I don't understand this mentality. It's great that you liked the video, I usually like if not love all of Giant Bomb's content but I felt this wasn't up to their usual high standard. I don't see why it's such a crime to put that out there.
Yeah this was a very poor video overall. I do think a part of that is that this was a pretty lousy demo disc to show off compared to past episodes. However, I know It's easy to throw new guy Ben under the bus but let's keep it real here, Jeff was just as bad a lot of the time. I think the next Demo Derby should be a little bit more straight laced or maybe at least try and not cram a shitty joke in wherever possible. The "Ballers!" thing was absolutely deplorable, 'nuff said about that. Everyone slips up at some point and puts out something lacklustre, hopefully the next Demo Derby will be awesome!
Really hope the whole "Shouting words is funny" mindset goes away soon. Parts of this were unwatchable. Never thought that about a giantbomb video before.
I haven't made it through the whole video but this is by far the weakest Demo Derby they've ever recorded and I usually love this series.
That Alias game is the sort of thing that's totally missing from the world right now, AAA developers are making very few sorts of games, first person shooters, open world adventures, loot based RPG's, indie dev's are making rogue-likes, 2D platformers, metroidvania's and other unique concepts, but the kinds of games we saw during the fifth and sixth generation are lacking. I want to see modern interpretation's of PS1/2 games.
Even first-person shooters are quite few and far between now.
