@flasaltine: I agree. And Jeff's hypocrisy is on clear display in this discussion if he defended Nier being any higher than 10. He barred Doom for having questionable multiplayer, but allowed a game that plays like Nier-garbage to be that high? Really sad. Think its about time to cancel my premium membership, especially since Ben Pack is literally the worst staffer they've ever had.
This is probably my favorite COD since OG modern warfare. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I think a rotation of COD's that includes historic installments is a good thing. There are some factual missteps and maybe it goes a little too over the top at times, but I really enjoyed getting a look at some WW2 gameplay running on modern tech. This certainly isn't reinventing the wheel or anything, but I think its a solid product and good change of pace.
@extintor: Yeah, I definitely don't think there is a hardware bias. But I do think that he'd made up his mind about this game a long time ago. He's entitled to his opinion, obviously, but there is good cause and effect stuff that happens in QB that he's never really described in the review or elsewhere. And he's been knockin' this project continuously for a while. I'm not hating on him, but I feel like he maybe missed a lot of what makes the game special (to me at least). That's something that's forgiveable, but if you're writing a review I feel like part of the process should be re-doing some things to see how the game can change. That's part of the fun.
This is sadly the first terrible review I've ever seen from this site and from Jeff. I normally appreciate his honesty, but he's clearly wanted to hate this game since it was announced and this review clearly reflects that. To say that the live action stuff has no impact on the rest of the game is a blatant lie. The way the story changes based on decisions and collectibles is fascinating. I had a feeling this review was going to end this way since he was ready to hate on it from the outset but it's really unfortunate that he's fabricating things to push his sad agenda.
