and if you have time and want to break up your games with other podcasts I absolutely recommend the Comedy Bang Bang Podcast, a hilarious sketch comedy/improv podcast, in interview format, big comedy names as guests. Much like the show if you've ever seen it but with more of an emphasis on improv, usually devolving into insanity.

I follow 3 gaming podcasts each from a different perspective.

The giantbombcast of course from the press perspective.

Idle thumbs is a great podcast, in depth discussion about games and some of their more esoteric aspects as well as a good dose of idiocy sprinkled throughout. From the perspective of developers/writers etc of videogames

and the Lincolncast/Scotchcast from the Giant Bomb Community is really good to get fellow gamers opinions and outlooks on news/games often the most helpful to put game consumption and purchasing in the context of regulay, non-games related jobs and lifestyle.

As an aside, I'd also like to note that the discussion surrounding gaming top 10s here is so much more constructive and friendly than the movie side of things (I am a very active movie viewer). A lot of movie top 10s often come across as being authoritative and dismissive of others' views and criticisms, with some inclusions feeling more like making a statement than the authors honest opinion. Kudos to the gaming community for being more level headed and celebrating the differences in opinions.

Thought so, it is pretty much my favourite running joke through giantbomb right now, I also can't wait for the discussion on the end of year podcasts.

@spilledmilkfactory: nice, I'm pretty high on the Swapper too, personally, I discount things like HD remakes etc from my lists as things that didn't come out this year.

@dr_mantas: Yeah mine's pretty close to final, I'd really like to finish Paper's Please and try to dig into Europa Universalis IV

I think for the community, its definitely the Last of Us (not my personal choice), I think overall it will be high or at the top of more lists than any other game.

Awesome, I always enjoy seeing what the community as a whole picks, even though I think its pretty obvious what no 1 will be this year

I get the sense that my list is going to most closely resemble yours this year, between fire emblem, device 6 (thanks for putting that on my radar by the way) the swapper, metro and risk of rain, I have found my opinions being quite close to yours in every case
