@savage: Yeah, I did notice that. I've only gone with what Jeff has stated on UPF's in the past. Although some sources do point to Paon owning the IP, including the Windjammer Wikipedia. Hmm. =/
So, according to Silicon era Marvelous (Creators of the Harvest Moon series) has acquired G-Mode, thereby gaining the Data East library of IPs.
One of those acquired is our beloved Windjammers.
What does this mean, if anything? Not much, but at least it is owned by a company which actually put out games for modern consoles (although handhelds have been their focus now for a while). But I cannot help but dream of a new windjammers surfacing :D
