New player is a bust for me as well. I'll still be catching the bombcast on iTunes, but I guess I won't be visiting GB much from now on if I can't watch the videos.
So did they fix the problems of DA in the first place? Class imbalance and itemization? How about the useless skills?
Is there actually new gameplay elements or just more of the same things? Even the new characters, are they just replacements for the ones that won't be returning?
Of all the people to buy a lifetime subscription, Jeff would be the last person I'd imagined to.
Honestly, I think STO will last for a good while, just on the brand name alone. Not to mention space is a pretty big place. So for the average gamer it's probably not a bad deal. It does pay for itself after a year and a half worth of playing time.
However, Jeff isn't your average gamer. So I think he'll come to regret it.
The only MMO I'll do lifetime subscription to is FFXIV. No question about it.
Not yet. I'm subscribed to Champions Online and Aion but the free month hasn't expired yet.
Honestly, if you just play for 30 days buying an MMO is no different than any regular priced videogames. In fact, it's actually $10 cheaper in many cases.
The AI looks dumb down in all of the videos. Even though I'm not a shooter fan, the run and gun style doesn't seem very appealing to me. The 4-player co-op is still an awesome feature though.
You know what? I really want to play Champions Online. But I know if I invest in an MMO, it'll eat up all of my time--time that I'll need to play things like Need For Speed Shift...
Honestly Jeff, if you have an hour or two every other day to spend on Champions, that's plenty enough. The game is super accessible, even more so than WoW in my opinion. $10 cheaper than a regularly priced console title, and you get the first 30 days for free. I think you really owe it to yourself to check it out =D
