Seeing as how they said this will not be a new franchise and is the only time their doing this and it is not an expansion they should just call it Halo: Recon. If it has Halo 3 in the title I think it should at least take place during the events of Halo 3."
I think this is because it's using the Halo 3 engine, and should not be considered a full game (the impression they're giving is that it will definitely not be as long as Halo 3).
Some theories say that it could end at the start of Halo 3 (you being one of ODSTs in the final segment of the Halo 3 Live Action ads who use the laser to analyse the Chiefs landing spot).
