Red Dead Redemption is the spiritual successor to 2004's Red Dead Revolver, featuring a vibrant, open world set in the decline of the American Wild West. Players take on the role of former outlaw John Marston, who is forced to hunt down his former gang to regain his family.
It does get boring through repetitive enemies and it overall being too easy. It's still fantastic, though, with its brilliant cutscenes, writing, soundtrack and the world itself has once more become so much fun to explore.

I have loved the cutscenes and music, but when it is such a chore to reach each cutscene, it's not worth it. There are games out there that are more engaging.
And yes, once I got to Mexico I realized I couldn't take much more of it.
@Agent47: For me (not the person you asked the question to,) Mexico was absolutely sprawling, but it had NOTHING happening. As opposed to the first U.S. arc, the game felt like it was just spinning its wheels, feeling that there must be a lot of arbitrary obstacles in the way of getting to see who you want to see. On top of that, the Mexico missions RARELY bring you back to the side of Mexico you started on, and for some reason every mission in Mexico begins in the West and ends in the Eastern deserts. Unless you're into the fast-travel of the game (which sort of defeats the point of playing RDR, and shrinks the world significantly,) riding back on the same trails is a bit monotonous, and it's frustrating that they couldn't ind a way to end missions closer to where they started. As a result, I effectively stopped playing the game, though it's not at all that the game is bad; it's just not the magic that was the first part of the game, and I had Super Mario Galaxy 2 to play.
Little_Socrates is spot on with what he said. Only I would like to add that I just really hated the characters. They may be well acted and all that, but they're just so fucking despicable. It's kind of the reason why I never absolutely love any Rockstar games
