Resonance of Fate is the best JRPG of this generation, right after Trusty Bell.   
 
It's only fitting that we go back and play this gem again, it's still worth it to this day.  It's been almost a full year since the game came out, and it even has Nolan North!  
 
Let's not forget the amazing voice acting by him and the great breasts!  If you never heard of it, check it out...it's worth it and still amazing!  Heads up, it's fucking hard as hell.

Only JRPG's I've played this year were NIER, Strange Journey, and Recettear. 
 
Strange Journey is the best one out of those 3.

GB take notice of a JRPG?? TROOOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. JRPG for GB stands for Janky Rat Piled Garbage. 
 
But no in all seriousness, they barely ever review JRPG's let alone have them anywhere near their GOTY categories.

I also like Resonance of Fate a lot, but only because of the gameplay. I thought the story was awful and I couldn't really get into it until near the end of the game. 

dude, I loved that game, but no, none of them ever played it, I honestly doubt any of them WANT to play it, and there's going to be NO best JRPG of the year.

I played and beat it as part of my pact to beat every game Nolan North is in.

I've totally played a little bit of my copy of the game, it sits far back in my backlog tough. It is prioritezed over FF13 at this point (haven't even unwrapped that one) and I hear it gets really hard later so that seems promising. Still Baaaaaaaaacklooooog :(

Best game for each platform (PC/ps3/360/wii/downloadable) Then overall game of the year. And then their personal top 10. There is no genres, and if there were genres, you really think they would talk about jRPGs? When was the last time they were hyped up about a jRPG? FF 13?

...the game is insanely hard.  I mean like brutally hard, and the tutorial is really long or short...depending on if you want to survive or not.  One of the hardest games this year, let alone of all time. "

Hmm? What's Resonance of Fate? Oh yeah, that JRPG Sega put out a week after FFXIII... In all seriousness, though, they won't have a JRPG award category.

sorry Persona 3 Portable takes that slot. I haven't played Resonance of Fate but  the idea of a crap story dosen't help even if the gamplay is flashy... maybe when it comes down in price..
 
But Persona 3 Portable was where it was at, it ate up my hours like minutes and I couldn't put it down, and I've already played the origional and beaten it.

Nah bro they will forget to put it in the RPG category.

Best console JRPG of the year, for what its worth. Certainly deserves an award more than FF13. Unless we're talking Razzies.

It won't do any good, considering that none of the staff played the game, to my knowledge.

• Persona 3 Portable (Quick Look)
• Fallout:  New Vegas ( Edit:  Derp.  Forgot about this one.)
  

I still refuse to play a game marked with the Tri-Ace logo since Star Ocean 4. Seriously, one of the worst games I've ever played and pretty quickly turned them into my least favorite developers.
