A downward kick occasionally combined with a jump. The Pumphrey Brothers favorite kick. It is used to crack open crates.
When a venue in a fighting or wrestling game is enclosed around the combatants. This generally prevents ring-outs.
Fatalities are a means of ending a fighting game match by gruesomely murdering the loser. It was popularized as a finishing move performed at the end of a match in Mortal Kombat.
Also known as the "Mighty Foot", this first-person kick provides a valuable service to the player. Allows players to attack enemies or destroy items in the environment.
It's arguably the one move that symbolizes the medium to those outside it. The ability to jump, be it onto a building, a platform, or a skull, is one of the all time most important abilities ever put in a video game.
A fighting area that possess multiple locations, which can be gained by one player striking the other at specific locations with a powerful move. One character proceeds to the next arena unwillingly, and taking damage. The other player follows the first player and does not take damage. Fighting then resumes until the match ends, or perhaps until the next transition into yet another area.
This platforming-inspired sub-genre of fighting games often includes varied stage designs, the use of items and a lighter emphasis on damage-based KOs. Four or more players may join the mayhem though party-oriented elements may also be toggleable.
Stage Fatality is where a defeated player/opponent was finished off into some deadly objects or plunging to falling areas.
