They just announced on the VGA's that "Ten" will be available as a full album download in 2009 (March?). How rad is that?!

Pearl Jam's "Ten"
Honestly, I think they're going overboard with albums. I want Pearl Jam stuff, but I want stuff from all their albums. I want Animal and Spin The Black Circle. I would much rather have a three-song pack with the ones I actually want.
That's completely awesome and all, especially if "Master And Slave" is a track in it.
"Honestly, I think they're going overboard with albums. I want Pearl Jam stuff, but I want stuff from all their albums. I want Animal and Spin The Black Circle. At this point I have a hard time faulting HMX for anything DLC related, because well, look at what the competition is offering. I'm sure for every person who wants what you're desribing there is another who wants full albums, and yet another who wants more metal. Can't please everyone I guess.
"Next up from this era . . ."
"Arkthemaniac said:I couldn't agree more. And they're perfect for RB, since these songs would be a blast on ALL instruments."Next up from this era . . ."I concur! Soundgarden is probably the most under-rated band of this era, and this album is ever bit as good as those that have already been released."
I've been getting into Pearl Jam lately, so I'll definitely be buying this album, especially since it's supposedly one of the greater albums of the 90s.
Arg, everyone wants OK Computer. >_>
I'd much rather have Amnesiac or even Hail to the Thief. Not that OK Computer isn't a good album, I just think it's overrated.
Pearl Jam may be from the same "era" as soundgarden, but it's 2 diff types of music. Soundgarden was Seattle grunge, Pearl Jam is more like arena rock. There are a handful of PJ songs I don't mind like that Old lady in a small town song or whatever, but I find it offensive when people try to tell me that Pearl Jam and Nirvana are the same genre. Nirvana is a genre defining band, they pioneered the sound of seattle grunge morphed into more pop oriented grunge.
PJ is more like an Aerosmith type, while Nirvana is more like a Sabbath. Aerosmith has been around a while, has a ton of fans and plays arena rock, just like PJ. Sabbath is more influential and important to the history of music.
I love soundgarden, unfortunately that horrid Spoon Man song is their biggest hit. Awful song and one of the worst they ever wrote.. Jesus Christ Pose, now that is a song
Awesome news, and a great album to release.
The only thing I really wish Harmonix would change about releasing albums is how they only release "Revolutionary or Genre-Defining" albums. I would really like to see some albums from the 2000's, but I don't think it fits Harmonix's criteria (Bring on Blood Mountain or a Muse album, please!)
"Where is it!?!moar like
Sigh.

"Q: Oh, wait! Axl, I find the verses on Shackler’s Revenge to remind me of The Sopranos theme tune in certain ways. Should they do? Furthermore, any chance of getting the complete album on Rockband? That would be swell. I’ve done SR on expert, so if you’re looking for a guitarist, PM me.
Axl: Never thought of that w/the Sopranos but a big fan of that song. And I think that’s a yes on Rockband."

First, Pearl Jam is not arena rock, of any of the "grunge era" bands to fit that description it would have been STP; while granted they were much more heavily influenced by classic rock than say Nirvana, labeling them as arena rock pretty much overlooks half of the bands catalogue of music, which very much like the Clash, spanned a variety of genres. Second Nirvana DID NOT pioneer the sound of seattle grunge music, they simply brought it to the mainstreams attention,an act that many from the seattle scene resented the band for, and third, saying that Spoonman is awful is about the dumbest fucking thing ive ever read.

Blood Mountain NEEDS to be in Rock Band 2, at least more Mastodon of any kind, tossing in Origin of Symmetry by Muse would also kick ass.
Does Harmonix have a DLC request line or something:P.
"Megalon said:They used to actually, but with the update of the site they took it down. Now you can just put 5 songs in your profile that you want and MAYBE they might listen to you....doubtful though...."StillAThreat said:This needs to fucking happen, one of my favorite albums of all time."Arkthemaniac said:I couldn't agree more. Over on the official Rock Band forums there's actually a whole section for DLC suggestions, which Harmonix surely [hopefully] looks at often. :\
Unfortunately the 35 page long Incubus thread has yet to take effect.
May I just say, what is WRONG with arena rock? dude, if your music speaks to enough people that an ARENA full of them will come and check out your show, more power to you. And it also means that you might actually find someone who would be willing to SING with these songs, which is always a difficulty.
Pearl Jam were certainly from the same scene as soundgarden, as evidenced by them both appearing at the first lollapoluza
And, I'm a huge fan of STP's music. I think the albums "Purple" and "Core" have many songs that would be amazing in Rock band.
All those albums are good and all but what we really need... is Dedication, Thin Lizzy's greatest hits album. Live versions of three songs are not enough!
Anxiously awaiting Ten though.
Ten is a great album...my favorite songs on there are probably Garden, Jeremy, Oceans, Alive, and Evenflow...there are a lot of good songs on it though.
They should finish up the Nirvana album since they have like almost the entire album on the track pack...you just need Smells Like Teen Spirit (How the hell can you not have that as a DLC?!?!?), Lithium, and Come As You Are.

And Incubus.
"Pretty awesome, I think. Lots of great songs on that album."Yeah, that is a pretty solid album as a whole.
"And Smashing Pumpkins.Yeah that...and also have 1979 as a DLC song ;)Gimme the rest of Siamese Dream or perish."

But even more this:i'd also love to see:and of course:and a lot more but i'm not going to spam this thread with more pictures ;d" I have no clue how you'd put Kid A in rock band considering there is very little in the way of conventional instruments. There's like, two songs with guitar and drums, and I don't remember anything in the way of bass lines. And Joy Division? Seriously? I think they're the most overrated band in the history of music. The fact that anyone considers them to be good at all just baffles me.
