" On it's own, this is great, but I would not touch a game where the protagonist talks like that with a ten foot pole. I hate games/movies where the protagonist is an asshole, and this guy sounds like Asshole in Chief. "Dude, it's Marcinko. of cour'se he's an arrogant asshole. Read up on him on wikipedia.

" This game is apparently like 2-3 hours long because Jeff already beat it. "Wait, what?!
" @Ineedaname said:Wo that's bad, if they were to do a quick look of this, they may aswell finish it, because they'll be near the end." @Milkman said:Yeah, I was a little shocked too. "" This game is apparently like 2-3 hours long because Jeff already beat it. "Wait, what?! "
Makes me wanna play this game for no other reason than to just hear this.
Maybe when the price drops.
" With a B.A. in International Relations from the Navy Post Graduate School in Monterey, California, and a M.A. in Political Science from Auburn University, Marcinko brings to the private sector the same skill, dedication and enthusiasm that earned him 34 citations and medals, including the Legion of Merit, the Silver Star and four Bronze Stars." - http://www.navyseals.com/richard-marcinko
I can just imagine how his board meetings would be run...
While I can appreciate the comedy value of getting an A list celebrity to do a song like this, I have to object towards why it's considered acceptable 'bad assery' for the writers at Rebellion to include homophobic insults for Rourke to spout along with the rest of his soundbite tirade.
You don't see far better characters like Cpt. Price, Snake or Fisher going around calling people cocksuckers as a derogatory term while breaking necks. Did they really think that makes Marcinko 'edgy'? While they're at it, how about some racial slurs and demeaning women for the sequel. I hear that shit's really trendy too.
Of course, as embellished as Marcinko's personality may have become, he's an actual person - unlike Price, Snake, or Fisher. And as offended as I often am at racist or homosexual slurs, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I just listened to the entire three minute clip and never heard one homophobic slur in the entire thing, unless my ears are failing on me already." Woah, now I want to play this game just for Mickey Rourkes voice acting. It sounds like he did a great job.
" Wow. So was this edited like that or is this really what happens in the end credits? It's kind of hard to figure out based on what the article says. "The first thing said is "soundbites over the end game credits" so that would lead me to believe you know, that it was edited.
I don't really agree with him completely. I agree that homophobia is bad, but I'm pretty sure a girl would be just as offended, if not more so, if you called her a cocksucker, and in that case there's no homosexuality implied.
He also says "moron" and "motherfucker". I doubt he's trying to insult the mentally challenged or victims of incest.
Sometimes a curse is just a curse and you shouldn't try to read too much into it.
that's right, nighty night you sweet piece of shit.. enjoy the ride cocksucker have a nice trip. hahahaha RAW.
" @Keeng said:Except for this is exactly how the song appears in the end credits. The soundbites are part of the song. Maybe save the snark for times when you're actually right!" Wow. Maybe you should L2R yourself.
Hehehe, backpedaling. So you're claiming you meant to imply no condescending tone at all with your "so that would lead me to believe, you know, that it was edited" comment? Okay. Yup." @Babylonian said:

I claim that my "condescending tone" (which I didn't see as really condescending) was due to the inability of the poster to read the first sentence.
How was I suppose to know that the sentence ended up being written in a misleading way? As I already pointed out, my comment was based on the assumption that the sentence was correct AND I also left room for the possibility that I could be wrong.
But yet again, if you had even the smallest sibilance of being about to comprehend we wouldn't be going over this yet again.
