this thread has made me miss the days of crash 1, 2 and 3. The best thing about Sackboy though is that he is simple, customizable, cute and memorable. All you need for a good mascot.

I was thinking the same thing when he said that....
They could turn him into a flexible mascot as well in that as evident from the Nariko and Kratos Sackboys, it could be a universal representation of their games. Uncharted and Resistance Sackboys anyone?

I dont think that sack boy should be sonys only mascot, I think resistance, motorstorm, infamous, ratchet and clank and lots more should share it. If you can remember all the way back to sonys 2007 holiday advertising campain, they had a montage of games. (i personally think it was one of the best console ads ever) I dont see why they cant do that with a mascott.

"Why is everyone taking the 'mascot' thing out of proportion? Didn't we all already know that? PS has many "mascots", from Kratos to Snake. Didn't you guys see the E3 conference? They showed on each screen some memorable characters from PS, such as Snake, Hale, Kratos, etc. Then they added Sackboy onto a screen.. that was the point, another character to the PS family, basically, not the definite mascot of all things playstation...

Sackboy is teh shit :D Tho, Sony does the whole multiple Icon thing, always have. They don't have just one face that promotes their platforms (*Cough Mario, Hack Master Chief ;) ).

Sackboy IS multiple mascots. He is Sackboy Kratos and Sackboy Snake and Sackboy anybody."

I think Sony are really putting too much faith into LittleBigPlanet. It looks good, but I can't really extend my interest further than that and i'm dying for a new big game to play on my PS3.

I actually think they're not putting enough behind LBP. All along Sony was like "look, kewl game eh!?" and the media is like "OMFG AWESOME STUFF" and Sony smiles. They could be doing A LOT more to promote it and get behind it.
I'll play this game just like the rest of you, hopefully I'll get into it, but the fact that we're already way past the point of SackBoy oversaturation and the first game he debuts in hasn't even launched yet makes me feel like Sackboy is an enormous shithead. I like Halo, but now I feel the same way about Sackboy that I feel about Masterchief. That Sackboy is a real dickhead. I mean honestly, "Sackboy."

I'd like it if they solified what it is that you actually do in the game besides make a Sony Press Conference, but besides ignoring that crucial detail, it's been absolutely everywhere over and over again.
