Overview
Sakata Gintoki (often referred as Gin-san, or Gin-chan) is the main protagonist in the anime and manga series, Gintama. He is the leader of a group called the Yorozuya, which specializes in doing any sort of odd job for a fee. He works with a young boy named Shinpachi and young Amanto girl named Kagura, who often assist with Gintoki on various jobs.
Despite the fact they do all sorts of jobs, the Yorozuya are rarely paid, and never pay the rent for their house.
Personality
Gintoki is a very carefree and often lazy person. He enjoys living life his own way, spends most of his time lounging around, waiting for a potential client to give the Yorozuya a job.
Despite being an adult, Gintoki is obsessed with reading JUMP (Actual Manga publisher in Japan, and the publisher of Gintama), this long running gag often leaves Gintoki questioning how he could be reading it at his age.
Gintoki has an obsession with sweets, almost dangerously so as he's been warned he could develop diabetes.
Despite his normally lax and carefree attitude, Gintoki cares deeply for his companions, Kagura and Shinpachi.
