Not bad
Taking a page from Nintendo, SEGA is getting all of there Be-loved Characters together in SEGA Superstar Tennis. SEGA Superstar Tennis has the average modes of play. There’s a career mode where you go around, playing different Tennis matches in different SEGA themed courts. This mode unlocks hidden stages, characters, and what not. There’s also a tutorial mode if you want to know how to play. There’s also the vs. mode where you play with friend and even online play, which can be forgettable. While it’s user friendly, Lagg free, and there’s a good amount of options, there’s hardly anyone playing. The actuall Tennis gameplay is fun. The controls are pretty easy to learn as X and A will be your best friends. It’s basic tennis gameplay. The thing that makes it stand out are the Super attacks. There’s a star underneath your player, and when it fills, you press one of the Trigger buttons to activate a special move. Each character has there own unique move, and it’s a nice addition. There also Mini-games that are fun and break up the tennis action. From collecting rings, to not getting hit for a set amount of time. The character line up has characters from well know SEGA franchise like NIGHTS, Jets set radio, Super Monkey ball, Sonic the Hedgehog, from not so well know like Samba de Amigo and Space 5. SEGA SuperStar tennis for the most part a fun time, but it’s not perfect. The A.I is mixed from giving a good challenge, from being a bit easy, to a bit cheap, also the controls can be a bit unresponsive. Other than those problems, SEGA Superstar Tennis is a very user friendly Tennis game. SEGA Superstar Tennis is pretty decient looking game. The world is crisp and clean, and the effects are color ful and what not. It’s not pushing the limit for the X-Box 360 or PS3, but it still looks decent. Music is re-used form old SEGA games which give a nostalgic feel, but the voice clips can been grading at times. Also, some levels don’t have that many lighting effects that give the game it’s charm. SEGA Superstar Tennis is a fun, charming, and nastolgic tennis game. If you’re a hard-core tennis player, you may not like, but those who want to re-live SEGA’s old franchise that’s not just Sonic the Hedgehog or who are just looking for a Tennis game, it’s worth checking out and maybe a buy.
