Not that it's our choice to make, but I'm wondering what peoples' opinion is on the media expansion that has struck Persona 4. Listing the various Persona 4 media products:

• Persona 4
• Persona 4 manga
• Persona 4: The Animation
• Persona 4: The Animation movie
• Persona 4 stage show
• Persona 4 Arena
• Persona 4 Arena manga
• Persona 4 Golden
• Naoto spin-off novel
• Yosuke spin-off manga

Not counting potential Persona 4 Arena iterations since those are pretty much inevitable, would you prefer it if the Persona 4 saga ended with the Vita game, possibly to avoid oversaturation or overuse of the characters and world, or would you want it to continue as long as the P4 stuff remained of a certain quality or because you just love the P4 universe/characters too much?

• Perofella (Persona 4 porn, though this one is obviously not Atlus endorsed)

I really hope they put a bullet in it soon honestly. I really want to see them do stuff with new characters. I never really understood why they started with all of this extra stuff, personally I always liked the Persona 3 characters better anyways.

Whoops, I answered without actually reading your question correctly. ("Persona 4" not Persona in general) yeah I think it's time they moved on to a Persona 5. Although the vita remake does seem to be adding a good bit of content.

It should end. I am pretty ok with all the stuff that came out, since only P4 and P4 golden took up any significant portion of Atlus development. I wouldn't like it if Atlus devotes more resources to another port/expansion of P4 instead of getting some newer titles out of the gate.

At first I thought this was asking if the Persona franchise should end with P4G, and I was looking for the "I will fucking cut you" option. But yes, I'm about done with P4 after Golden.

I would've liked to see a new game , the anime is just the game cutscenes social links and boss battles turned into a well an anime so I don't see why that should count as it adds nothing new to the story , so is the stage show , manga and all that crap . P4A is the only product that is expanding on the acutal game story so I would like to see a proper Persona 4 FES but at this point I rather see Persona 5 they "kinda" oversaturated Persona 4 and I say kinda because most of that stuff we won't even see like the stage show or the novels (unless you know japanese in that case you can cosume anything persona with no problem) as for the franchise yes I think there's enough Persona 4 'stuff' out there so let's leave it at that fo P4.

Persona 4 Arena is an official continuation of the P4 storyline, so no.

Not sure how I'd feel about a Persona 4-2 though. Either way, I enjoy that they're putting out a lot of stuff for it. Sadly none of it is very accessible unless you're in japan, it seems.

Well if it is media then ... don't? because that just means more money for Atlus (right?) and if they're just translating the story of the game and making spin-offs that don't change anything then I don't see the harm in it and as I said a lot of people in the west won't even get to see or know about that stuff. They got to stop at some point but I want atlus to make Persona 5 a bigger Persona game and if the cross media stuff brings the money then sure milk P4 a little.

Move on to Persona 5!

I think that P4A took some development time as well because they handled all the story stuff.

Milking their products dry seems to be Atlus' way of handling business. Yes, I'm a huge fan of P4 (as many others), but this is getting fucking ridiculous. I mean, does every title in the franchise need 3 different releases on every platform available? And yes, I'm probably just bitter because of the lack of P5 news. At this rate I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the P5 timeline will look like this:

• Late 2012 / Early 2013: P5 news start trickling out from magazines and websites.
• E3 2013: PS4 and X720 are announced. Atlus announce P5 will be released for PS3 and X360.
• Late 2013 / Early 2014: P5 released in Japan. PS4 and X720 released worldwide.
• Summer 2014: P5 released in the US. No word on EU release. Some third hand publisher will do it "eventually".
• Late 2014 / Early 2015: P5 released in EU.

Persona 3 came out in 2007 right? 1 year after the PS3 came out and Persona 4 came out in 2008! you should know that Persona 5 will probably come some time after the new consoles launch so ... it's coming but we're gonna have to wait.

I am not sure what you are getting at, there is no such thing as a "Persona 4 franchise". The franchise is "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona" itself. Every game has easter eggs and references to the previous ones, many of them have cameo's from older characters. Hell Mitsuru, Aigis, and Akihiko are even playable in the upcoming game. They will move on to a new game soon, in fact it is all but confirmed they are already working on P5 and it will be on a current gen system apparently. Yes they will move on to new characters but there will still be those easter eggs and cameo's by the old ones you can bet on it.

Yes, they should move on. I didn't realize how much P4 stuff is out there! With that said I am really looking forward to P4A story mode and want to see how many risks they take and where it leaves the whole persona story in the end. Avoiding all spoilers! It was the P4 ER that introduced me to the Persona franchise and I decided to play P4 because of it. P4 is great, but honestly I like P3 more, and I played it after. Here is hoping that the Persona franchise can move on and tell new stories with new characters.
