I have never played this game before I wanted to but never got around to it... now I am happy that I never played it because I get to experience this for the first time

I wish there was a PC port of this so bad. I played it on PS3, but that version had performance problems and tearing throughout.

Kind of wished they went with the Japanese VO; the English Dub doesn't really bring it the same way.

This game desperately needs a PC port.

@relkin: I generally prefer English dubs, in fact I only watch anime once I get English dubs but what it is about the Japanese VO that makes it better? I have seen mention of this from Asuras Wrath before to play it in JP. There are lots of bad dubs but some good ones too. I played god hand in English and loved it but am wondering if I missing out now.

Ben Cyberconnect 2 didn't make Budokai

It's truly a shame what the game has for a English Audio track. This isn't even a question of subs vs dubs. O'Brien does nice screams, but the game is awfully mixed in English.

Music and vocal volumes are all over the place, sometimes you barely hear voices, sometimes you don't get the swell up of music. Much more consistent in Japanese Audio. Along with the soundtrack, the main theme in Japanese gets vocal melody on top of the usual track in the heavy hitting scenes, but English track has just the same theme through the entire game. Missing a melody is a big thing even if you don't understand the lyrics.

A criminally underrated game that I wish had better gameplay, but such an amazing visual style and soundtrack, plus a fun as hell story that actually had me in tears by the end.

I would pay so much for a new PC port of this...

Best new feature in a looong time. I really thought Brad was gonna do something like this after seeing the Quick Look, but this will do nicely!

I still predict Brad will show up for at least one of these.

@beefscorn: The (hopefully) good news is the same devs are doing the new DBZ RPG. Being that Asura’s Wrath is already as DBZ as all get out, it gives me hope.

Asura's Wrath is top 3 game of last gen. Few games made me smile as much as it did.

@steveurkel: Don't get me wrong; the dub we've seen seems to be fine, but there are some characters that just aren't done as well. Touching-himself-creep doesn't have the weirdly sultry tone in the dub that he does in the sub. Deus isn't the the same mix of menacing and imperious that he is in the sub. And hell, Olga is British for some reason, despite no one else appearing to have a similar accent.

But honestly? It's mainly Asura. This guy seems totally OK during the quieter sections, but his yelling just isn't anywhere as good as it is in the Japanese VO (and there's a lot of yelling in this game).

I'm not a proponent of either side of the DubvSub debate; there's plenty of stuff where both are of roughly equal quality and you can't go wrong, and there definitely are shows/games where the English is superior. There's also a lot of stuff where the Sub is a definite cut above, though. I think this is one of those.

Also, for something as profoundly anime as Asura's Wrath, it just feels more right when they're all screaming in Japanese.

Weird, someone told me this game was all QTE's when it came out and I avoided it like the plague. But now I see there's some actual gameplay, I've been lied to.

I'm a Japanese voice acting kinda guy, but i get it.
Actually i just remembered the English voice acting in this game is actually pretty good, especially Wyzen.

I've watched several videos of this over the years and they've always just covered the game until that certain finger poke. Guess I'll finally watch all of it on GB.

I'm not super grabbed by the story, but I do like the visual style, which is still pretty good looking for a PS3 title.

How could you bring up Goku and then make the wrong reference? Korin's tower was RIGHT THERE!

Oh man, I can't begin to tell you how happy this makes me. A spiritual successor to Gotta God Hand? Hell yes!

Does anybody else think the overlay takes up too much space making the gameplay window a bit small? I had to get up and watch from my desk instead of the sofa because I couldn't read the subtitles.

Also, pretty excited about this, Asura's Wrath owns.

Very happy about this. Was actually thinking about replaying it when I saw it pop up on Xbox One back-compat but this is very nice alternative. Thanks, guys!

Hope Brad sits in for the Ending DLC because he somehow has still gone this far without witnessing it.

This game is so fuckin' great. If there's a game that needs a current gen / 4K re-release, it's this game.

Perfect name, perfect premise, perfect excuse to practice the very real life skill of grape tossing.

Hey guys, you need to get S ranks on 5 chapters to get the true dlc ending (congrats on getting one down already). Each chapter you’re graded on time, combos, and how well you do QTEs (Synchronic). You only need to get S ranks on two of the three to get an S rank for the chapter. QTEs shouldn’t be hard provided you don’t try to drink every time a Burst shows up, but the first two can be tough. Personally speaking, I’d look up the basics of getting a high combo rank and not worry too much about time, especially if you’re not already familiar with each chapter. That said, if you can speed through the chapters, by all means go for it.

Guys next time go with Barefoot Moscato for the wine. They have the little airplane bottles and it basically tastes like soda with some alcohol and in a good way.

Frustrating but whenever I watch any premium video on an LG OLED it just stops and gives me the replay button instead of playing it, I restart it over and fast forward 5 mins in and then 1 miinute later it does it again. I can't change my browser on my tv so basically I can't watch any videos that aren't on YouTube. It only happens on premium videos like this and crime crew. Basically the long ones where it's insane to try to watch a video that restarts every 1 to 5 minutes.

Mind your grades, I believe you need them at a certain level to get the true ending that sets the stage for the DLC.

It annoys me how characters strengths and weaknesses are completely interchangeable depending on what looks cool. Asura can defeat earth worm jim but then suddenly fighting for his life in hand to hand combat with foot soldiers.

The opening is so much worse without the vocals for the music (they only play the instumental with english voices). Also just using the dub in general is disappointing.

Definitely agree that this game needs a remaster/PC Port though.

I love Asura's Wrath and bought all the DLC (despite being pissed off at having to buy the ending to the game digitally) but now reading the comments I'm not certain whether I did what was necessary to get the "true ending"...

Whelp, I guess I have to boot up Asura's Wrath again after a little over 5 years!
