It's kind of silly that people are giving Randy so much shit. The fact is, leaks are bad. When, as a journalist, you report a leak, you are doing kind of a shady thing. I don't care if people want to hear about it, but it's just not fair to talk about what are ostensibly rumors.

Publishers and developers want their game to be announced with some punch, they want it to be exciting and they want the word to get out to as many people as possible. Leaks tend to mess with the flow of stuff, and can often be downright wrong, or too early for any information to come out. It would be like someone leaking all of Diablo 3's mechanics back before it was released. The game is totally different now, and it wouldn't be fair to show the game off as no one but the devs would see it.

No matter how big the leak is, they are bad. Developers are NEVER happy about it, and one of the things I've always like about Randy is that he fuckin talks the shit. He says what's on his mind, mostly not holding back because of how pissy people will get. Leaks are pretty much defined by being bad. So it comes off really janky to bitch about him being upset about it.

And if you ask me, it's pretty mature of him not to come out pointing fingers, so asking him to back things up more is a bit weird too. Because he really doesn't need to come out and back everything up just because he's talking to the public. He wasn't whining or bitching, he just expressed a totally valid piece of pisappointment.

I'd also like to add that the 3DS is absolutely a failure. A business failure? No. But in terms of being a worthwhile product that is properly supported by features and software.
