@DexterKid: I played one Flashpoint and i have to say that i really liked the dialog rolls. I felt like my character got a fair ammount of speaking time and i also hear some lines from the rest of my party. The only weird thing i found was the party consisted of 2 female jedi knights(me and another player), now the chances of 2 characters of the same class looking exactly the same are very slim but i can see it being weird if you have a 4 man group where EVERYONE is Jedi and they all have the same voice.

@Brodehouse: I think there really isn't going to be demand for HD ports of HD games. The thing is, almost all people not living in the mountains now understand what HD means and how an "HD port" is a desirable thing.

Very few people know what 30 FPS means. Of that small group, only a very few care about framerates as long as it's a consistent 30.

Some are like me, too. I'm a Demon's Souls fan, and I know damn well how much the game stutters. But when I see it, my brain tells me "whoa, I blew all that stuff up around that huge boss and it slowed down - this game sure is exciting right now!"

It's basically ghetto bullet time. Many games in the (cough) seventh console generation use a ton of blur effects to mask the problem of dropping framerates, and that actually makes for some striking visuals.

So what I'm suggesting is that there probably won't be much market for "60 FPS Remakes" because only one in a thousand gamers really gets angry about frame rate, and most of those guys are on PC. They could always just do basic re-releases and speak in generic terms about 'how much better it looks on the PS4!!" and so on. That would be fine.

Loved this as always. Harsh Jeff is best Jeff. People ask dumb questions, and that's ok. It's also ok to tell people that their questions are fucking dumb. It's also important to remember that none of this shit matters and that getting emotionally worked up and angry over video games is the PATH TO MADNESS.

@Jeff: The naked companions in SWTOR is more an issue regarding asset streaming to other players, and not people doing it intentionally. I was playing the beta with a group of buddies and we verified that it was a bug.

I don't know if I've just missed the discussion, but are there any plans / hope to get Jar Time as an audio file? I really love Whiskey Media for all of its great podcasts to listen during commuting / walking in general, and as it is I just end up ripping the audio out of these video files.

It's funny, I was a freshman in college when Goldeneye was big, and what Jeff said is completely true. I lived in a large dorm, and nearly every afternoon was spent in someone's room playing splitscreen, multiplayer 007. The game was simply the right thing at the right time for the right people. I imagine that Halo was the same deal for some folks. I didn't play Halo until I bought a 360, so it never had the same level of nostalgia that Goldeneye has for me. That's one of the magical things about games, movies, music, etc. Sometimes they just click.

Me too pal. Totally agree.

@msavo The only support they ever promised before MvC3 was released was balance patches and 2 DLC character, both of which they delivered on. None of the new content in Ultimate was ever mentioned in any capcity as part of the post-release plan for vanilla. The only thing that comes close is the occasional mention they made of possibly maybe looking in to adding a spectator mode maybe. Definitely not a promise.

And this is pretty dead horse but if you're going to make the comparison I'll say it again, Ultimate added 4x the content that AE added to SFIV. AE cost $15. If Ultimate had been made DLC it would be insane to expect to get it any cheaper than $40. So unless you just really hate going to the store, I don't see how making it DLC would have been objectively better.

i played the star wars: old republic beta and i really really enjoyed the shit out of it til i realized my character would not carry over to the full game and decided to quit playing till it comes out (i got to level 11) where as i played WoW and was bored with it i actually cared about the quest lines (which were pretty good) because they were voiced as opposed to every other mmo where i would just accept the quest without reading it and i thought everything else in swtor was pretty awesome i can't wait to get early access to it and play the hell out of it and see what the ship stuff is all about. on completely unrelated note

"Steak's alright" -Jeff

It's gonna be weird to watch that last part after like 5 months cause we'll know most of the answers, but the future doesn't matter it's all about the present!

This one was awesome it seems Jeff kinda misses when the PC had all games coming to it. I want the PC to get more games too!

The time when Japanese developers were at their highest was when the dreamcast was around right?

@Antihippy: Fair enough. I guess a man room to me has always been a place me and friends can go and blast music, play guitar and maybe play some video games so we don't wake my wife up when she has to work in the morning.

I mean if people feel the need to create these rooms to hide there personal hobby's from people, well.. then I guess that is pretty pathetic.

Jeff,

Getting recognized on the street isn't always a good thing when on a date. Back in 2004 I spent about six months as a stand up comedian. In late June of 2004 I went on a date with a girl I met on OKC (don't judge me!) We did not hit it off, but her roommate and I got along extremely well, and after a couple of hours, she and I were on a date, leaving the original date behind. At two in the morning we hit a cheesesteak place on South St (we were in Philly - the only place you can get a proper cheesesteak at two in the morning) After we finished our sandwiches we were walking back toward center city when from behind I heard a very loud, moderately hostile

"HEY"

I thought "Oh great, I met a nice girl and now I'm going to get stabbed by some crazy drunk guy". I turned to face the drunken madman with fists clenched ready for a fight. I looked at him and asked "Yea?" to which he replied

"YOU... I KNOW YOU....... I SAAAWW YOUUUU THE OTHER... NIGHT... YOU.... YOU WERE FUNNY!"

To which I replied "Uhhh thanks."

We went on our way looking nervously over our shoulders for crazy drunk guy.

The date went well - in fact we're still together seven years later, but being recognized on the street did nothing to further the relationship.

Man, GB fans have some low self-confidence or something. I'm always astounded at how hurt and insulted people seem to get when they think (because they're crazy) that the guys might be in some sort of argument, or that they're being "harsh" on the fans.

There are some dumb people on these forums. We all know that. We've seen threads made by people with 4411, Father, or Kart in their name, and how utterly moronic they are. I would rather Jeff be real at all times, especially in these videos.

There's a difference from being "real" and having a blatant disrespect for your hardcore fan base. Anyone asking a question for Jeff in these videos is probably a big fan and respects Jeff. It'd be nice to see the same back.

I don't think the content and value of this video series would suffer at all if Jeff just eased up on the eye rolling and scoffing. I mean we're all here to listen to Jeff's input. He knows his stuff. But a higher sensitivity to your fan base can be a good thing for everybody.

It can of course be a good thing. Again, though, I would rather that Jeff be real in these videos. I don't want him to be the teacher in class who tries to pretend that the moronic question isn't moronic. Some of the questions he got were eye rollying-ly dumb, and in an honest forum I don't want him to censor himself like that. I would rather people not send in terrible questions, but that's just me.

I totally agree with you - I'd rather for anyone on GB to be real. But in this case he doesn't have to pick the bad questions.

I'd rather him choose better questions :X

Agreed.

Frankly, I like seeing stupid people made fun of.

Jar Time! [/realtalk]

I completely agree with Jeff's comments regarding the final question. And to people getting annoyed about his answer I think he is against people belittling a persons hobby or interests in such a way that it has to 'banished' to its own room rather than the idea of just having a dedicated entertainment room. I feel the same way about terms such as "Man-Flu" and other such nonsense. I'm sure a lot of females feel the same way about the effect Sex and the City and other programs seem to have on the perception that most are fashion obsessed emotionally stunted children. It irritates me that people on both sides of this continue to perpetuate such sweeping generalizations. But I digress...

Questions regarding review scores will continue to be stupid. It probably doesn't need reiterating, but what he said in a previous episode about the main reason people seem to get angry about review scores stems from the fact they often feel slighted on their purchasing choices seemed accurate.

Wow Jeff's answer to my question scared me.

I guess he doesn't like people asking about reviews scores.

All I really wanted to know is what he thought if the game was just multiplayer. Would it have been more highly scored, (or in other words--to not mention review scores) got a better overall impression.

Still love you Jeff even if you hated me for asking that question.

"Favorite Memory of eating steak is always the last time you ate steak"

Dude comma GOLD!

Last time I had a steak was in Del Ray Beach, FL. We go there every year for my grandfather in-laws b-diz. He was 95 this year. I had a DEEP FRIED FILLET at a place called Fifth Avenue Grill .This is a grand experiment I suggest you try if you see it on a steakhouse menu. It is not at all greasy or weird. It just creates an amazing spice crust on the steak and you still get the middle cooked at the proper temperature.

EDIT: Right after finishing this grand comment --> Hit unpause --> "Steaks alright" haha double perfect.

I appreciate Jeff being open and honest in these and hope he continues to be so forth coming. I don't feel inclined to ask anything (as other people have better questions then I would and really I just like listening to this stuff in the back ground when I do other stuff anyway- kinda like talk radio) but if I did I would want his honest candid opinion; even if its to say i'm being stupid for thinking in a certain way. I would be no different to anyone I speak to and appreciate he does the same.

It's a shame so many consider this to be an insult.

Keep it real Jeff, I enjoy these a lot.
