It’s a shame that Toei only produce a TV broadcast master of the final chapters and everything is cropped and zoomed in for 16:9 broadcast. Tadayoshi Yamamuro’s is so good but really suffered as a consequence, some of the tight action framing is ruined and really needs to be viewed in 4:3 like this.
Also, bonus original Toshiyuki Kan’no key frames.
I like how I'm playing Dokkan battle as I'm listening to this and then thought of the Dabura cookie and low behold Dan finds it lol. Well back to me kicking the crap out of Lord Slug with Broly
Back when I read the manga, I had already seen a few episodes of the Buu Saga, so I knew that Vegeta would be back after his death in the Frieza arc. When I got to this death though, I thought that it really was the end of him, and remember feeling somber about it. Knowing that the series was coming to an end, with only a few more volumes of the manga, and Vegeta being a guy that had done a lot of bad stuff, it made sense to me that this was the way his arc would conclude.
Ultimately it wasn´t the end, and I was happy when he showed back up again, but believing in the moment that it was, was still a very memorable part for me.
The reaction I was waiting for was the moment Vegeta asks Piccolo if he gets to see Goku in the afterlife. Jeff's reaction complete with a Piccolo impression was amazing.
Now that Vegeta has had the spotlight on him the last 10 episodes its finally time... Time for the two true hero's of dragonball (Z,GT,Kai,Super), the champions of justice and light, the Saints of fighting for all that is good to finally have the big moment they deserve.
Thats right!! Its time for Goku and Mr. Popo to take center stage, and shine in the spotlight, next time on Dragon Ball Z (kai)!!
@jacksukeru: I still get teary eyed when I read this section of the manga / watched the anime. This and the part where Goku teleported Cell to Kai's planet.
Is there no way to differentiate between podcasts and videos on the main site? "Watch This" seems like a weird prompt for a podcast. Hopefully that can be addressed in the future. As for now; YEEEEEEES! Waited way too long for this, so excited.
While I think it's all downhill as far as episode quality after Vegeta's death, I'm glad they're enjoying Buu because there's a lot of funny stuff the rest of the way with him.
A nice little send-off episode for the Prince of All Saiyans. Vegeta is going to be spending some time in the Home for Infinite Losers, but he may yet get his win back...
Also, I found this picture on Twitter and figured that it needed to be posted here...brother.
I always secretly hoped Dan (and Jeff) would wind up loving Buu's obnoxious personality. I honestly always loved it too. I feel like Toriyama, with his only mandate being to create more toyetic characters, really started to break the tropes he'd set up. We get all this set up for Buu, that he's some horrific cosmic threat, and then he's this goofy, pink, bubblegum man. But STILL a threat.
I think they're going to love where the character goes.
