Even with the explanation it doesn't help. It's called the Little Jew because you hurt it sometimes. Implying that it's a natural thing to hurt the little Jew. After hearing it on the podcast, I found a Jewish-French article on the subject that was very much against its usage.

As a dutch person, that story about the funnybone - jew relation rang no bells for me. I have no idea what the dutch version would be.
