Beast in the East: Yakuza 0 - Part 10

YES the best scene in the game is finally upon us!!

Judging from the thumbnail, there's some real cool dude shit incoming!

One small thing that might help you: having heat bars stocked without using them increases your speed and damage, which might be useful during boss fights. Those basic heat actions you were using against Kuze did very little actual damage if you didn't notice, so holding onto your heat instead for the passive buffs might be a good idea for boss fights in the future. (There are still specific heat moves that can be useful against bosses, but those basic ones aren't super effective against them.)

Based on the thumbnail, I'm really excited for this episode.

It's here! I'm so excited for this episode. Last week's was fun but a slow one: Dan was sick and it was the point where the story takes a brief downturn in pace. But this is where stuff really starts to kick off (for Kiryu in particular, but also on Majima's side).

If last week was the slow crawl as the rollercoaster cranked up the big hill, this is the episode where it crests and begins its free-ride. Let's HARRIER!

Finally finished this last night. Oh my the characters in this game sure go places, don't they. Those last three chapters have so many "Oh Shit!" moments.

I had a really good time with this game.

You kept us waiting, you kept us wondering, you kept us thinking is there anymore Beast in the East episodes and then finally it arrives :) phew.

Previous games have had sword heat moves and there are moves in this game that definitely kills people, so that`s not the reason this game does not have them.

Still the best thing about Mondays!

The guys went from hating switching back to Kiryu last week to saying this was the best chapter in the game so far, love it (this is pretty much where the story kicks into gear for Kiryu and Majima)

Also can't wait to see their reaction when they boot up the next chapter... (the game does a great job of leaving you with a nice cliffhanger before switching characters)

Phew, I was worried there.

Still haven't started watching these, because I want a little more distance between finishing my own playthrough and reminiscing with this show, but I love checking in with the thumbnail every week and knowing exactly what wonders you're all about to experience. It only gets more intense from here, too. What a story. First time I've generally known how a game ends (being a prequel and all) and still rode the edge of my seat as it made its way there.

I just played through this part last night. It was fucking INTENSE.

For the real estate ratings on the advisors, the order of the symbols from worst to best is:

X - Triangle - Circle - Double Circle

We all use Arabic numbers, Alex, Vinny and Dan. One of the similarities across languages.

One of the things that annoyed me in the new mass effect is the new aliens are using arabic numbers... it made no sense to me. I can see humans integrating their arabic numbers in to the citadel but this is an unconnected lifeform in another galaxy.

Sword heat actions are definitively a thing in the series, it's just that in this game I believe they're limited to Majima since he's the "weapons guy". Majima even has an extra set of weapon heat actions that are available if you press triangle immediately after you draw the weapon.

Real Estate Advisors - X is bad, Triangle is ok, Circle is good, Double Circle is best. There are 10 properties in each area, one you get for for free, some you get from maxing out friendships with the staff, most you have to find on the street and buy. (And the real estate stuff is not going to notify it when it's ready, you need to check on it yourself in the business tab in the pause menu.)

The catfights are mostly random stone-paper-scissors bullshit. There are mainly two things you need to pay attention to - the scroll at the bottom of the screen will give a hint as to how the girls are "feeling", ideally you want to pick an "energized" girl who's facing miserable opponents. Also the girls usually favor one or two attacks over the others. So picking a counter to her most common attack improves your chances.

Anyway, congratulations on the car door heat action, now how about buying a Mandarin Orange? It tastes good and has lots of Vitamin C!

I was definitely getting "profit is ready to collect" notifications - might be based on what you have your level of tips set to (I had it set to More).

Vinny, when Nishiki is singing, Kashiwagi (Kazama family guy who's now running things while Kazama is in jail) is on keyboards. The guy with the scar who was eating ramen when you first see him.

This chapter got me so invested in the story that I sorta mainlined it from here, definitely missed out on some side quests but I couldn't help myself I needed to see more story cause it's so damn good!

Hmm, I guess. I never did check my pager, so if it showed up there I wouldn't notice.

Anyway, just a little thing I forgot, Beast style is definitely good against groups of enemies, you just need to get a combo going before the enemies start hitting you. Grabbing and throwing enemies with circle helps a lot as it hits over a wide area and can down several of at once, and also some of the upgrades will make you more resilient to enemy punches.

Also it's worth noting that you generally should try to avoid using the same heat action multiple times on the same enemy, as it will give less damage each time.

Being a freak is 80s for sure...

@vinny In case you guys are wondering, the term mama is used a lot for female owners of bars, hostess clubs and even the more sexual establishments you can find in Japan.

sad how much they are skipping with the main story mainline.... they can go back but doing that stuff now helps a huge amount and breaks up the big story.

Yeah, they've turned some of the tips off - I noticed this originally because they weren't getting the notification that a new sexy video had unlocked (this seems a dumb thing to notice but given that they trigger at the end of encounters with the person in the video it makes sense). I found having the "Payout ready for collection" notification super handy.

What a packed episode.

This games is amazing, it's making me want to check out the other entries in the series.

When I was playing this I definitely found at least one Heat action that involved running a guy through with a sword/knife. And I'm pretty sure it was Kiryu, but more likely it was Majima.

Man, that ending scene was getting me pretty emotional. The voice acting in this game is A++++.

They should really do real estate or Majima's business off air just to earn money and unlock the moves

I'm still very early in the video so this may change, but try out Beast heat moves as Kiryu if you want the wrestling moves.

Good to see that Dan gets reminded of the lock on within the first 5 minutes of the video and then -still- doesn't use it at all. 10/10 effort

How dare you..

I'm about 80 hours into this game and with the exception of boss or big one-on-one battles, I use exclusively beast mode. Very fast crowd control after grabbing a bike or something and multiple grapple heat moves that use one guy to hurt others at the same time. Just run to a bike or motorcycle, switch to beast, and have at it until it's broken. Then get to heatin'.

I've spent the last 8 hours of (chapter 10) gameplay doing real estate and damn, these media king upgrades are slowww. Getting a sweet billion every round now tho.
