Hoping GBE do a reasonable amount of running the club. The narrative and substories are fun and provide some interesting detail to Majima's character (and often lead to karaoke, which is always a treat).

Edit: @alex The skill ranks for the hostess are the same ranks as for Kiryu's staff. From worst to best, they are Cross, Triangle, Circle, Double Circle.

Buffing your hostesses up to Double Circle in at least one of the Sexy/Beauty/Cute/Funny is extremely useful as you get deeper into the club game. You want a mix of hostesses that cover all of them.

Perfume is just a straight up stat. buff, so it's not a bad place to start.

Couple of other quick tips - 1) special training and makeovers are for Platinum hostesses only; 2) it's worth building a bigger lineup as hostesses need to rest (emoticon on the cast list shows their current condition); 3) you should do the special training every time you run the club - you can only do one session (with only one girl) each time you run the club, and completing all of the sessions with a particular girl leads to their substory.

This series is why Mondays are the best day of the week. I just finished off the cabaret club story myself last night and boy is it worth it for the reward.

@alex @vinny @danryckert Please, please, please do spin-off episodes of just Club Sunshine if you guys would enjoy that - it's got a ton of fun moments in and the reward for finishing the whole thing is incredible (plus you'll make a lot of money along the way). You pretty much had everything down by the end of your second session, but here's a few quick tips if you'd like them:

Weirdly, I learnt those skill ratings from the Pokémon official guides (they are used to indicate rarity), so I suspect they may be more common notation in Japanese games?

The Cabaret mini-game was easily my favourite mini-game in Yakuza 0 so hopefully they do more of it in later episodes.

The little face next to the customer will tell you how much the customer will like the girl. You can just look at that instead of the stats.

Inviting Mr. Libido to the cabaret club will give you the best time. Or maybe itll be like inviting Dave Lang?

Edit: Wouldn't a better analogy for the cabaret clubs would be if the cabaret clubs are youtubers/twitch streamers cause i know dan knows fucking nothing about those (except maybe Patrick before) and it is a rising industry.

The circle/X thing is a Japanese grading system (maru/batsu). X means bad/no, triangle is in between, circle is good/yes, double circle means very good.

I believe it's also why X/O on Playstation controllers do opposite things in Japan. (O = Confirm, X = Cancel)

@alex For the Cabaret stuff I mainly looked at the smiley face, as others are saying. I had to look up the x/0/triangle stuff when I played this section, I don't believe it was explained well in game (its what everyone else is saying though).

YES! Please do a 12b episode of just playing the business mini-game. Please please please!!! Also, it will be really good for giving Majima the cash needed for skills in the fighting menus.


The hostess club part of the game is actually in the list of the things I can do pretty well. As the guys were saying that minigame alone is actually just a fun game by itself. I have only done a little with the Cabete Clubs, still in the opening phase. But, I just completed the whole Real Estate Royal with Kiryu, and that was actually fun - but time consuming. On the other hand you will never fill out the fight system without the cash flow the business generate; and you need to control most of the properties to generate 4 billion yen for each of the top-tier skill bubbles.

The only thing I wish was included in the Hostess club management is the ability to train and dress ALL of the women. I love creating/modifying characters in games; the 'paper-dolls' aspect of any game appeals to my need to 'fix' things too. You can raise all the women's levels, but that is not as satisfying as giving makeovers.

The hand signal part of the game is easy to learn, because the signals are obvious. They harder aspect is reading the situation at the "Check please" - when to extend a session, when to give a gift, when to give a special send-off, etc. But, I am learning both!

Glad you guys are enjoying the cabaret club stuff. It's very time consuming but worth it. Dunno how you guys want to do it on video but I hope you stick with it somehow.

The penny pinching by the guys is so weird to see. Money is such a non issue in this game but they're hesistant to spend ANY it seems like.

There is ZERO chance Lee would suggest beating Makoto. The actual plan is to disfigure the other girl and remove her prints so that no one can determine she isn't Makoto.

Interesting how Dan immediately said we can kill her because she's allegedly murdering these men. It's not like we haven't already seen someone be misrepresented to justify that....

Seriously though, they were basically getting it, it's just not very well explained and is much more straightforward than it looks. They'll get it.

@viinland: yeah they need to put on their big boy pants and do some Mr shakedown stuff for big cash. He's so easy if you just bait his charge moves and attack when he's recovering. Probably beaten him 50+ times in my game.

Yup, they got most of it by the second try and the rest is just practice.

Cabaret episodes would be great.

Eh, don't really see why they need to. I didn't fight him once, except for the forced fight, and once by accident when I was way unprepared for it and rounded a corner right into his face.

But I did both business minigames and with those had more money coming in than I knew what to do with by the end.

So about running the club...

You can only train and makover the platinum hostesses.

There's a side room in the cabaret club where you can save.

For hostess stats - X is bad, Triangle is ok, Circle is good, Double Circle is great. This is the same in both Majima and Kiryu's business stuff. In general you want to min-max you hostesses, so you have ones that are great at certain things instead of decent at all things.

Basically you want to match the guest with the girl that gives the happiest face. Purple face is best. The word above the guess gives an indication of what they most want - "Party" for example means he wants a girl with a high Party stat. If the guest wants a spesific hostess their name will appear there instead.

Hand signals:

Pistol = Guest glass

Circle = Ladies glass

Trapezoid = Ashtray

Downward roots = Refill ice

Open palms = Menu

Twist = Towel

If you're not sure you can wait and a text box will tell you outright what they want, though this gives a lower reward.

The choices you make when there's trouble or they ask for a check usually vary between improving the guest's mood (leading to more business down the line) and helping the hostesses recover HP. Gifts are more effective but detract from the clubs profits. Suggesting an extension usually only works for wealthier customers with a hostess they really like.

Aside from completing substories and the shrine, you can also find a few hostesses around town. They want presents before they sing up though (generally stuff you buy at the Le Marche store.)

Gonna back up the support for business casual episodes. There's a good amount of content tied into the real estate and cabaret club storylines and the rewards are fairly significant. It's a bit of a slog at times, but I'd say it's worth it for what they lead to.

I would agree they don't really need to. That said, you can absolutely make tons of money from them - it goes up a lot once you've beaten them a few times (and there are ways to farm him with Kiryu specifically that can earn incredible amounts of money). If they're not trying to fill out every single part of the skill tree it certainly isn't essential, though.

This is not right. Lee`s plan is to disfigure the body of the decoy so people will think she is Makoto.

I spent the equivalent of probably 3 normal length video games in that Cabaret and regret nothing.

@y2ken: I would say though, that you don't really need "incredible amounts of money" unless you go through with the business games first since it's the locked skills that are the real money sinks.

I would be 100% on-board with some cabaret-only episodes if they were in addition to the existing weekly schedule.

First of all, hostess club only episode? Yes, yes and yes once more. We can refer to them colloquially as The Obatarian Diaries.

Also, regarding Lee's plan for pseudo-Makoto, he was suggesting you deface the body by performing extreme acts of violence on it to the point where any true identification wouldn't be possible; not anything as kind as plastic surgery. Don't be thinking too nicely of Mr. Lee in this instance.

for the club they really need to pay attention to what the guest wants, they didnt know if they wanted a ashtray or towel it says right on the screen! you need to match the guests with the smiles on the side the game spells it out for you.

@do_the_manta_ray: You don't need to equip it, in fact you can't equip it. And really, there was no need to spoil that for them. It would have been much better if it just suddenly came as a surprise. Hopefully they'll just have forgotten it by the time the next episode comes.

As for "spoiling" it? It was pretty blatantly expressed, tons of other people saying the same thing in the comments here now (there's another right beneath your post for instance), the fellas only misunderstood because of how often the masterpiece film Face/Off is brought up, I'd assume.

Cabaree/real estate only videos would be cool to see! I'm a weirdo that enjoyed fusion only episodes during P4 ER the most and these yakuza minigames have more entertainment value than those videos so most people would enjoy them.

I am pro fusing days. Pro more Yakuza and pro live Soul Calibur streams. GBEast. Killing. It.

East has really been on point for the last few months. Once the SF crew get back up to strenght this site is gona be a world beater.
