Having as many variables and branching paths as this game does, I guess some of them might wind up good. Not sure the one Vinny stumbled his way through here was one of them, but it was very fun to watch.

I'll take an ending.

Just one?

One but one good one. Well done all! Damn fine entertainment.

I recognized Mike McShane from 90s "Who's Line," "Office Space," and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (and a crapton of other voice acting) as well as Gerald Okamura from a BUNCH of schlock movies (probably most notably Big Trouble in Little China and Samurai Cop).

I think I agree with both Alex and Vinny. Game itself wasn't that great, but it does look really pretty. I'm glad they finally got a chance to finish it though!

Let's wrap up Toonstruck next then, alright? Just get Austin to join you for it!

Man, I thought this game was a masterpiece back in 97, but seeing it now, it's like Fan-service The Game, with few original ideas. And the whole "it's different every time you play" thing makes for very disjointed narrative.

I remember when they first played this, someone said it was meant to be played real-time along with the movie. How is that supposed to work? Does the movie just end at some point and you continue along with the game?

Audio/Visually this game is amazing, but the story is terrible. It's so concerned with hitting the same beats as the movies, functioning as a narrative that takes place alongside the movie, and having cameos from characters from the movie that it kind of ruins whatever momentum the game has in that first hour or so of play where it sets up a legitimate mystery. The rasta character is, I assume, meant to be a very obvious Neuromancer reference, which is additionally awkward.

Yeah, the plot beats of this game felt very much like "Hey, remember when we did this in Blade Runner?!" the game. That said, it could have gone a lot worse. Thanks for the playthrough!

Wow we are 1 week away from it being 8 months since the last Mass Alex episode that is way to long, hope it doesn't get abandoned like Shenmue and Yakuza.

I really enjoyed this. Vinny and Alex made a great pair for playing it, this particular game was interesting, and I'm always entertained by Vinny playing the adventure game genre.

Thank you, I hope you do more like this!

Also raising my hand for more XCOM and more Mass Effect.

I can think of at least two characters in the game that either end up dead or are definitely not going to be in the place you find them in the game within 2 hours of normal playtime, so you'd have to speed run it for that to work. I doubt that's considered how the game was meant to be played.

I agree with Vinny that the plot is overall a little too nebulous for my tastes. They are doing that multiple endings thing where only a few are satisfying while others are technically endings but much like the one we got here, they appear empty and confusing. They were going for a fun gimmick with randomization but man if I had actually played through this game back in the day and this was the big ending payoff I'd be super bummed out.

I thought it sounded crazy when the credits said the car dealer guy was played by the same guy as Kane from C&C, but going back, you can kind of hear it. Good fun, guys, thanks!

This was an enjoyable series to watch and thank you Vinny and crew for playing it. As for the game itself, it's very well made with good writing and well voice acted but it felt a little too close to the movie in with characters acting as stand ins for the movie counterparts.
