Bombin' the A.M. With Samantha Kalman: 10/06/2014

I got to see the panel Samantha did with Patrick at PAX. You can see her quite a bit at the end of my video that's on the front page of the site here.

i think it's just cause the non-premium vids i'm assuming are all posted to the Giant Bomb YT account by default? i assume they think it would be weird\wrong to pull that one series or deny access to it on Youtube, despite the negative attention. don't really pay attention to it so i'm not sure if that's the case or not.

and from the GB videos i've browsed on YT it seems like the idiots are everywhere, though maybe in smaller numbers (Brad hate seems like a close second...)

If you go to their YT channel, comments on all videos were recently shut off. If that's permanent, good riddance. The GB staff obviously don't have the time to moderate comments on YT to the degree needed, so then shutting that toxic shit off is a good thing. Watch the video on YT or GB, but you have to comment on GB because that's where they can moderate. A fair deal.

Samantha was great, but I'm feeling a bit odd that I really liked the story of Shadow of Mordor. It might be because I'm just invested enough in Tolkien lore to like hearing about Celebrimbor without already knowing about him

Aw man, I hadn't heard that about Richard Hofmeier. Cart Life is such a great experience; that's fucking saddening.

I really enjoyed Samantha Kalman being on it she's just a positive force that is fantastic! and more pro wrestling game was had.

I love it when Samantha shows up on the site.

Samantha is fast becoming one of my fave GB guests. I shall support her endeavors by purchasing Sentris with my Australian monies.

Samantha really nailed exactly why I like Shadow of Mordor. Those moments when you finish your mission and you look at what you have just achieved are simply fantastic. It's been a while since I actually felt like I accomplished something in a game by putting some effort into it. I'm so glad it's good. I wanted that game to be good.

this was a good episode, samantha is cool.

It 100% makes senses that Gollum is in the game, it's not shoehorned at all.

Ugh, Ratbag is the worst character and biggest plot-hole in Shadow. He's such a fucking pansy and everyone knows it. Not a single Uruk ever seems to have any respect for his so-called rank, so how is it that none of them ever decide to just off him and take his position away?

Also within the first hour-or-so of the game I knew that Talion was a ranger of Gondor who had committed some crime. Possibly desertion with his wife? It's hard to recall not because the game was vague but because that was like 20 hours of gameplay ago.Rather than face punishment or trial he was granted clemency by his wife's father and they were instead forced to live and serve protecting the Black Gate.

So I'm not sure why the complaints about not knowing anything about him. That's a pretty defined backstory if you ask me and gives some insights into his character. And about him being a dick, well, he's being a dick to Uruk immediately after they slaughtered his wife and son and cursed him to eternal undeath with a pushy ghost-elf so... I'm just no sure what other way he could behave.

Alex is right, season 2 of The Wire is fine. Hell, it's better than fine, it's good. Patrick, you're crazy. I'd say it goes like 3 > 4 > 2 > 1 > 5.

Alll man, that's so depressing to hear from Samantha about the game developer that pulled their game and left the industry. Sadly it looks like the developer of Cartlife.

I actually never said it was bad! I was only bored by the first few episodes, and regrettably never got back to the show. I'm waiting for the HD remaster that HBO's promising now.

Hmm, Samantha Kalman vs. Brad Muir in some sort of competition would be pretty great to see. Not sure what kind of competition, but I'm sure it would leave me with a smile regardless of its nature.

I'm tired of hearing plugs for sentris. We get it, its a music game. Apart from that, decent episode.

Hey, Alex, I'm a trucker. You're right, the industry is a mess right now for a variety of reasons. Tell you what, I'll trade my X-endorsed Class A CDL for your job any day! Seriously, though, it's not a bad thing for a young 20-something to go do for a year or two if you don't have something tying you down and need to get out. I've been local for the past eight years, but one day I would like to get back out on the open road. That's my retirement plan, lol.

Sentris actually looks kinda cool. Are there plans for an iPad version? I wouldn't sit in front of my PC to play that, but I'd definitely play it on my iPad. I'm a "real life" musician and I love games like that. Keeping an eye on it. Just subscribed to Samantha's YouTube.

Oh, and I also just listened to the last podcast. I'm going to be really upset if we don't get a "Get Spooked Boy" soon!
