I'm only a couple of hours into Shadow of Mordor, but I already think it might be one of the best games I've played this year. My only real gripe is with how transparent it makes the Nemesis system — I could've done without the map always being populated with events, and I think it would've been much more interesting if that stuff just occurred naturally rather than having you trigger a mission every single time. Anyway, it's cool to hear that it seems to stay interesting throughout the course of the game.

Samantha was a great guest as always!

Having guests on is really nice. It's good to hear you guys bring up showing appreciation again. Which is something I personally know, but I just don't put those extra 2-3 minutes in as often as I should. If everyone who liked something wrote that on a forum, at least some of the trolls would probably drown in the positivity.

Cool episode. It's always great when they have guests on and Samantha is a cool guest.

I've been having a lot of trouble listening to both this and the previous Bombin the AM- nothing happens if I click the play button on the player, and downloading either directly from the site or through my podcast app (BeyondPod) goes extremely slow even though my internet connection is fine, and all the other site content loads normally.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I had the exact same captain encounter as Samantha where I was trying to take out some archers and captains kept interrupting me and killing me. Maddening! But I still loved it. Created a few more enemies with that challenge alone.

Is the person that Samantha mentions as leaving the game industry Richard Hofmeier of Cart Life? I recall him taking the game off Steam and his website is now a black page. It's too bad. As people grow up in an industry, developers and reporters, they might expect the rest of it to grow up along with them. It doesn't. There is endless churn. The Idle Thumbs crew conveyed their experience logging in CS:GO and getting the same vibe they had 15 years ago. Games. Games never change.

Samantha Kalman - she's the hero the PAX Royal Rumble deserves, but not the one it needs right now (until the next PAX).

The idea for Sentris is the most amazing idea in the world to me. A game that allows you to create authentic music mixes my two favorite things in the world. Fucking A. A video game instrument...that is brilliant.

I hate to put a damper on the party, but why do you keep publishing these videos on Youtube? It seems like the comments are just getting worse and worse. There's clearly a whole community of Youtube idiots bent on harassing Patrick and his guests, so why do we keep feeding them?

@schonebaby: Youtube is the preferred option for mobile viewing, and I'd imagine they get some extra traffic from having that version out there too.
