This was my surprise of this year. Looks very good and Guerrilla Games does good stuff.

I'm interested in this game and would like to know more about it.

This was definitely my favorite non-Metal Gear game of E3 this year. Looks like it could be really great!

Super interested in this. I know it's cliched but I hope this is open world survival like some of these other games. Except with progression, production values, and polish. I want to be venturing out into a giant world and bringing supplies back. Becoming more and more confident and pushing farther and farther away from base, discovering new things, then having to find my way back.

Between this and where Fallout has been going I hope more post-post-apocalypses catch on.

But I still have no idea what this game is supposed to be.

I'm betting that it's some sort of AI (perhaps faulty) that decided dinosaurs were the ultimate example of life on the planet. Or something. I am hoping it is way better than that because I'm not creative.

Also in the press conference trailer there are salmon jumping in a stream, so we have seen some other animals.

Easily the title I'm most excited about out of the whole show.

Ghost Recon looked awesome, even more so if it has an survival aspects for food/medicine like DayZ does, but either way, I'd love to play that game right this second. Horizon was interesting to me simply because of the "WTF" mixture of things, I'm not dying to play it though.

To me this was the highlight of the Sony conference.

Horizon was definitely one of the games that really stood out for me this E3 as well.

For me it's the one game from Sony's press conference that truly impressed me as it was like no other game I've seen and it felt fresh and new.

Other than that this game looks really cool and very Monster Hunterish, a game which I want to like a lot more than I actually do. I hope this game can scratch my itch for my large monster hunting needs!

RPG Shooters ahoy.

One thing that bothered me about this game was the setting. Having played Enslaved: Odyssey to the West about 6 months ago, I couldn't shake the similarity between the two. They both have that tribal human vs robot environment... in fact, just looking at the wiki page for Enslaved, here's the setting description:

"Enslaved is a story set 150 years in the future where a global war has ravaged the Earth, destroying most of the human race and leaving the world to be plagued by robots left over from the war, known as "mechs"."

Horizon looks cool, don't get me wrong, but it didn't strike me as something I really wanted to play due to this similarity.

Enslaved was a good game, btw... a sleeper hit.

I love people trying to shove Monster Hunter in their games, I hope it goes down that path. I would be great if you had to farm large monsters to make tank armor or whatever the equivalent will be.

Will Austin always talk about diversity in video games?

@esuing: Why would a similar setting to another game make you not want to play it? Especially if you liked the game it's similar to. I'm confused.

3 Things I really enjoy: leveling/progression mechaincs, open worlds, bad guys you can break into pieces. Pretty interested to see more of this.

@coolowlbro: Fair question. Just burnt out on it, I suppose, since it wasn't that long ago I played Enslaved. I find I need to switch up my game styles and settings. I love the Borderlands universe, but after sinking 260 hours into B2, I still have no interest in playing the Pre-Sequel.... I'm sure some day I'll get around to it.

She does not have dreads, she has braids. There's a difference. I know about hair. I have none, so I spend all day obsessing over it.

Good things happen when you let for first party studios make new IP's

The lead writer of Horizon was the lead writer on New Vegas. That makes me even more excited for it.

This is what I thought Dead Island was going to be, that first time that I had to make a run to pickup oranges for the survivors hiding in the lifeguard post. And then the game continued and I was disappointed. :(

Holy shit, Austin, how do you expect a nomadic tribe of a few dozen people at max to be "divers" after over a thousand years of nomadic life in snowy areas. Such tripes had a hard time avoiding incest, diversity is literally impossible there.

Also she looks just like European museums portray stone age & later Europeans. Those cave drawings we see in the beginning look excactly like ones we have here where I live, so I have no idea what's distinctly native american about this.

I am pretty excited by this game. I never played Enslaved, but this seems to me to be pushing the post-post-apocalypse setting harder than Enslaved did.
