As much as i hate to backseat game, I just felt the need to drop some of my experiences from when I played the game (thanks to the ER, of course). Not sure if they've been mentioned before, but...

1) You guys can cash the fox quests during rainy days. It's an alternative to the Meat Dimension, and you can social link with other people during non-rainy days

2) Death is an auto-level up everytime you talk to her. If you can spare 10 Sundays/Holidays, easy max social link.

3) I personally kept Chie (and stuck with the A Team as a whole). Just saying, when you can get God Hand + Tarakunda + Power Charge, you can do some serious damage.

4) Buy the Huge Fish when you can. Makes a Fox quest somewhat easier.

That's just my opinion is all. :D

Man, when will they ever notice Incubus' giant... thing? I want to hear the commentary but every time they're about to make it or get it from the cards, they never do. Woe.

I'll watch ep 81 again and see what stuff you guys found in the club that was lost. I assume the personas unique to the club area could still be found through fusing, and the items junk found anywhere, but hey just incase, you might want to go back someday and fight the... king?

If I recall, Vinny and Jeff don't cast Hama and Mudo spells because when they first cast one of those it missed and they just assumed the spells have poor accuracy (plus they're costly). But in Persona 4 it's pretty accurate on enemies that have those weakness.

Is this correct? They are missing out on a lot of easy kills if true.

There are 2 Bosses in Void Quest. Killing Hand and Almighty Hand on the 7th floor ; and Shadow Mitsuo on the 10th floor. You need to beat the Killing and  Allmighty Hand to obtain the Orb of Darkness in the chest ,in which you fight them, to fight the next boss on the 10th floor.

Deadline is 12th August.

Boss Battle Killing Hand and Allmighty Hand
Suggested Level : 40

This is a pretty easy fight. The Killing Hand will, on occasion, summon an Almighty Hand. The Almighty Hand is basically a healing mule that is weak against wind attacks and has fairly low HP, which means Yosuke can help out a ton here.

All you need to do is pile on the attacks, kill the Allmighty Hand before its turn comes around and heal everyone up from time to time.

Boss Battle Shadow Mitsuo
Suggested Level: 43

The battle will be a long, hard fight. The basic gist of this fight is that Mitsuo's Shadow will summon a giant character sprite as a shell to protect itself. You must destroy the character sprite before you can damage Mitsuo's Shadow. However, Mitsuo's Shadow will re-make the sprite over time while he's vulnerable. If the sprite gets re-made, you'll have to destroy it again to continue damaging Mitsuo's Shadow.

A difficult twist to this fight is that this boss gets two actions per turn. The fight is relatively easy when facing the sprite, but can become maddeningly difficult when Mitsuo's Shadow starts attacking. You should , at very least, equip your Protagonist with a Bravery Vessel., or better accessory, because Mitsuo'S Shadow has a nasty habit of using Stagnant Air, Evil Touch (or Smile to inflict Fear status), followed by Ghastly Wail (instant death to party members suffering Fear status).Another nasty trick up its sleeve is that it will sometimes spam an elemental spell at everyone. If you have any character that are weak against the elemental it picks, you should switch them to manual control and have them guard until it starts rebuilding the sprite. The element it uses can be telegraphed by noting the type of shield it casts after the sprite is destroyed e.g. Red Wall - Maragion.

If a character gets knocked down by an attack, Mitsuo's Shadow will cast Megidola (Iron Maid, i mean heavy Allmighty spell) for its follow up attack. This combo can be deadly, especially if you switch to a persona that is weak against an element.

Mitsuo's shadow will attack for several turns before re-making the sprite, so during that time you have to inflict as much damage as you can to prevent it being created again. Make use of Rakunda and Mind charge to increase the damage which all you character can dish out. If you're successfull, the partially rebuilt sprite will be destroyed and Mitsuo's Shadow will be knocked down, allowing for an All-Out-Attack. the it will start trying to create the sprite again. Keep this up.

you could start thinking about raising Slink with Margaret as it involves a lot of fusing...sometime in the game don't be surprised if you will have to fuse a Neko Shogun again just to gain a level in that Slink so don't be so hasty as to reach a Black Frost just yet.and remember that you will have to save money to do that because of the constant fusing/summoning process...

umm actually it depends how you look at it. Is Teddie the best ICE persona? yes.  But Chie can also be extremely useful and was actually the second best person in my party when I chose her skills to be focused around PHYSICAL attacks, first being Yukiko with an Inferno Vow, and having the highest level fire boosting skill equipt (don't remember what it's called).

But she doesn't get those awesome physical moves until late in the game. They should focus on Teddie and then bring Chie back in for the later dungeons.

Hey Jeff and Vinny. I'm not 100%, but I think with the books, if you "Glance" through that means you can choose a different book every time, but if you "Read Thoroughly" that means you'll read that book every time until you finish it. Basically a way to make stat grinding two seconds faster by eliminating the choice menu.

I might be way off, but that seems like it makes sense.

Quick, easy tip on how to fuse any persona you want: Whenever you fuse persona's of the same Arcana, you get the same result arcana. The result persona will be based on the average level of the ingredients. If you fuse 2 of the same, the level is rounded DOWN to the nearest persona (persona's you used in the ingredients aren't counted). If you fuse 3 of the same, the level is rounded UP to the nearest persona (again, skipping any persona's you used in the ingredients). Only tricky catch is that it only counts the BASE level of the persona, not counting any levelups the persona has gained.

So basically, as soon as you find ANY other death persona (for example, matador), take him and pull out the persona you have in the compendium that is death. Continue to combine death persona's with each other in 2's and 3's and you will easily be able to get Ghoul. Depending on what the next death persona you find is you might need to pull 2 or 3 more persona's from the compendium, but persona's are really, really cheap by now anyway. Its a pretty simple way to get what you want fast.

Yes its usually better to look through the persona's you have been using and fuse them since they have learned a bunch more skills then the ones you find and don't use (and its often cheaper), but if you just want a very specific persona for a specific fusion this is a very easy rule to remember. You can create almost ANY persona with this, EXCEPT for persona's fused through 4/5/6 way fusions, and like 3 or 4 rare, high level persona's that can ONLY be fused by specific combinations that the game doesnt tell you, though you don't really need to worry about them if you don't want to. Anything more complicated as far as fusion combinations requires huge fusion charts or enumerated lists of all possible fusion combinations in the game.
BTW: The Yoshitsune you looked at next to black frost in the fusion screen is indeed the strongest persona in the game. The 4+ persona fusions set you up pretty well with badass skills that handle anything.

Their main problem with Chie is they never use physical attacks  and they never upgrade her weapons also she is already getting behind the other cast in terms of exp which is sad because she was one of my favorite party members

Bummer, I actually made this account to point that out. It's funny how you can get really used to that triangle button for quickly menu closing. When I play other RPG's it really feels like the menu's are soooo sluggish, having to needlessly close them all down till you're out again.

That aside, don;t have a clear view of what persona abilities you folks have right now, but when fusing always make sure to get an element that you don;t have yet. Or try to get multiple-target or higher level spells :)

As for reading; glacing through just makes you finish the book quicker. You only get 2 reads instead of the 4 you get when reading thoroughly (or 3 if you do 2 thoroughs and 1 glance of corpse).

Oh and you folk's ll love Black Frost if you managa to get him. I've had him for so long, he's awesome!

Great run guys.  Glad to see the run is back on track.  Ghoul's always hilarious.  Since you guys are so stoked to get a Black Frost, maybe you should consider S-linking with the V-room chick.  Margaret I think her name was.  I'm not sure but she might give you discounts on pulling personas out of the compendium.  Far be it for me to give you guys advice though.  I'm merely a viewer and have yet to start my own run. Afterall my favorite thing about the runs is the fact that you guys are playing it mostly however the hell you want without listening to some of these crazies and their hardcore advice columns.  By that metric, it just goes to show you that this is truly a fantastic RPG where people can play it a multitude of ways and still are able to succeed.  Keep up the great work.

Yes, play how you wish...but do not forget to keep Kanji leveled up.  He becomes an utter powerhouse later in the game and gets an ability to raise everyone's attack with one turn.  Oh and max out the Nurse, as there are some really good devil personae late in the game..and you probably will eventually want to make Trumpeter, but not until the last dungeon (which is when you will have maxed out Judgement)

Other than that, play however you wish.

No big deal. It's more important that they see it, as they seem to lament some of the game's deeper menus and the fact that you can close out immediately with triangle might lift their spirits or something.

Guys, just TRY power charge + your strongest AoE physical attack for a few fights. Not only are you missing out on tons of useful skills, you will totally have to dump Chie for the rest of the game if all you are doing with her is casting low level ice spells.

Do you guys think that Vinny and Jeff should pay more attention to the physical skills? I mean, once you learn how to properly use them, they can be quite useful. For example, I took Chie all the way to the end of the game and somewhere around level 75 she learns God's Hand and that is an awesome skill. So this, or do you think they can manage with just their magic and the occasional regular physical attack?

EDIT: too underscore the usefulness of physical attacks, check out this excellent very short clip of Chie's God's Hand! It is awesome:

@Etelan - Yeah, I was thinking the same thing too. I hope they haven't lost too much progress by not registering.

I'll join the chorus rooting to add Teddie to the party. I fought through this dungeon with the A team and Yukiko's Media spell was completely useless in healing during the boss battle. Teddie came with Mediarama so he was perfect, except that he was underleveled because of lack of use and I had to grind for a extra couple hours to get his stats up.
