Burgle My Bananas: Episode 03

Wow. That was so good it couldn't have been scripted better.

First Dan makes the "losers" swap cups with each other, then later in the episode is forced to do the same but with the "second winner" and the look on his face as he realizes he created his own downfall is absolute gold. He immediately loses all that confidence and smug satisfaction. The look on his face as he realizes he has to give up his winning cup to someone else is absolutely priceless.

This is a beautiful terrible mess. I feel like by the end of this, the N64 and the game will be thrown into a dumpster to be burned for eternity.

Watching the game? Eh.

Watching the crew develop a crippling gambling addiction and be punished for it? Yeaaaahhh

Never stop spinning the wheel.

The look on Dan's face when he had to swap his cup. Priceless.

Loving it. Ignore the haters.

To nobody in particular: You can like something without invalidating someone else's opinion about it. You can dislike something while still acknowledging the value others see in it.

In my opinion, everything enjoyable about this series has nothing to do with the gameplay that takes up two thirds of the screen and the primary attention of whoever's holding the controller.

I've been secretly waiting for this since day one.

"Okay, folks. We've finally implemented some new rules. First, you gain one spin for each puzzle piece you collect only if you make it to a checkpoint or complete the stage. Completing the stage is still worth one banana per Kong, but if you clear the stage with all four KONG letters, you get a free item from the shop. Sponsoring a Kong applies to all Kongs on the tag-team at the end of the stage.

Speaking of tag-teams... (infinite wrestling talk ensues)"

The best part is everyone complaining about how they're doing this, as if that's important, as if safe guarding the integrity of Donkey Kong 64 is important.

@danryckert@ybbaaabby@vinny @mmahardySince you guys seem to have some trouble with the controls and navigation in this game, I just wanted to write down some quick tips:

• -You can attack midair by pressing B to jump further. This is crucial to getting out of quicksand and clearing longer jumps in later levels
  
  
• -The crouch-jump turns you around mid-air, so think of it more like a backflip than a Mario 2 style superjump. Also use it to easily get into barrels that are just out of reach with a normal jump
  
  
• -The instruments are a quick easy way to clear a room of enemies, useful if trying to shoot a target that is near enemies for example
  
  
• -Keep track of where the teleport pads take you, the game expects you to use them when backtracking to avoid long treks of nothing
  
  
• -Try to think of the crouch + C-button item select as a primitive version of the D-pad item select seen in a lot of modern games. The C-buttons are arranged like a PS4-style D-pad
  
  
• -You can tell if you have gotten the blueprints from the big henchmen by their hair color. If its white, you have grabbed their blueprint already. Otherwise their hair color indicate which Kong's blueprint they drop (for example yellow for Donkey, red for Diddy, etc.)

In fairness, somehow I feel like Vinny did the right thing because seeing Dan in that state was pure gold!

A Pyrrhic victory at best though because this game show is broken beyond belief..

Everyone that’s enjoying the off the rails chaos of this series are missing a key element of what makes this episode’s brand of chaos boring compared to their usual brand of chaos.

The chaos has to be earned, there has to be stakes, you have to at least care a little bit to make the chaos make you feel something.

In this case, there’s none of that. The chaos feels completely empty and hollow. And all the people who love it, are basically doing the same as raving about an amazing open bar that only serves non-alcoholic drinks.

This, so much. I love the guys being stupid as much as anyone, but this game is terrible. The fact that no one from GBeast took 30 minutes to play it beforehand and see if it would be remotely fun..... They might as well be playing pong for the video game portion.

DK64 is not a good game so the endless wheel spinning that Vinny instigated for Dan's hubris to come back and bite him was Very Good.

I usually enjoy GBEast hijinx, but DK64 is so dull to watch I've kinda bounced off this series.

This....was great. Just madness and insanity and I loved it. This is how you play a bad game but have a lot of fun while doing it :)

I wonder if DK64 was a decent game if it had a better draw distance and actual camera controls.

And a modern controller to play with.

This is beyond dumb, and I love it.

I actually find sneezing to be very satisfying, it kind of feels good. Hiccups, on the other hand...if I never had a hiccup again, I'd be happy with that.

I feel like people here are down on this show but... I thought this episode was the best one yet!

As someone who 100% the original game "back in the day" - this is intensely frustrating to watch.

The main game should just be spinning the wheel and one of the places you can fall on should be "Play DK 64".

Funny episode, but may be time to send this series to the bottom of the ocean like Sea Beasts.

No way! Sea Beasts was boring and repetitive, while something ridiculous and gloriously stupid is always happening on this series. I love it!

episode 2 link keeps bringing me to episode 3. can't watch 2

Watching Dan protest when he got "swap with winner" while he was the winner, but then argue that the loser should swap with second loser when somebody else was peak Rykert. Also I love Dan and Vinny getting upset when Mike and Abby were making their deal, despite the fact that Dan and Vinny's nonsense wheel spinning collusion was the cause of it. I know I'm coming to all of this late, but as somebody who doesn't keep track of the score, I'm glad it's just total fucking nonsense/chaos.
