Is it weird that the first time they tried YouTube style thumbnails last year, a lot of people came out of the woodwork to complain, but now no one seems to notice/care? It's almost as if a chunk of the GB community has no idea of what they're complaining about, and just wanted attention for attention sake.

Every time I see the name, I expect to St. Vincent. Abbey, why you gotta mislead me :(

@toxicantidote can't speak for anyone else, but I was one of those who voiced dislike of the youtube style thumbnails - I think most people of sound and reasonable mind don't feel the need to keep reiterating their displeasure at something. The youtube thumbnails felt cheap before and still feel cheap now, but it's their decision which I totally accept, I don't see the point in addressing it again [except for right now to respond to your point :)]

I hope this doesn't come across as attention seeking... I actually hate attention and conflict in general, but I love giantbomb!! I don't like the youtube thumbnails and I already provided that feedback, and I don't feel the compulsion to do so again - I think most people will behave similarly, but maybe I'm the weirdo!!! Have a good one.

Count me as out of the woodwork as well. Same love for Giantbomb. I get it's a shtick, but doesn't make it good. Otherwise, love the content of the vid, and can always appreciate Abby & friends(St Vincent included I think.)

Damn I watched this and didn't even realize 45 minutes had gone by. Went and watched the one with Ben right after. Something about the simplicity of Fortnite and good banter w friends makes this super digestible.

Yes, there were definitely people who delivered reasonable complaints to why those kind of thumbnails didn't fit well with Giant Bomb. I'm just surprised that the other group, the very loud minority, that kept digging their heels in on never returning to the site if that was going to be the new standard.

That said, I'm one of those that prefer a thumbnail that is a screencap of the content I'm about to watch. I'm more likely to not watch something that has those kinds of thumbnails that so many YouTubers use nowadays. Even if edited thumbnails means there was more work put into the presentation of the content, and perhaps even more telling of what the video is going to be about, it still feels cheap in a way that totally turns me off from it.

I feel like this somehow ends with Dan Ryckert playing Fortnite with St. Vincent, completely oblivious to who she is and regaling her with wrestling stories the entire time.

Really appreciate these kind of fun streams. Abby at the helm is always a pleasure, and I had played Frog Detective but did not know who Grace Bruxner was. Seeing developers in a much more relaxed setting is something I really enjoy and Abby did great work here with a hilarious stream idea, with some actual quality behind it.

@toxicantidote: People voice their opinions and if the site keeps going in a direction you don't like then what are you gonna do? I don't have the stat sheet in front of me to say if it was a minority. Personally I'm not a fan, but when used sparingly and as a gag as I'm assuming is the intent here then it's fine. Ultimately it's just a thumbnail so it's not the biggest deal in the world.

LOL Abby lets her team mate bleed out to get XP in a video to convince St. Vincent to play with her. I thought it was funny but this show is great.

@toxicantidote: The ones they tried last year were a little too much. This is a lot more subdued and fits the usual Giant Bomb sense of humour more naturally.

Grace Buxner is a delight, and this makes me want to check out her games now!

(Also thumbnails haze zero effect on my ability to enjoy a video, and there are legitimate business reasons to use that style as this is also uploaded to youtube. If its a huge deal to you then I dont know what to say? Avoid every single video by anyone on youtube? Good luck! *Edit*...Also.....)

Lol, Abby complaining about her cat being “needy,” but also saying she wants a dog. Abby, dearest,.. if you think a cat is ever needy (I have 2 very dependent cats) you prolly shouldn’t get a dog. They literally can not be left alone.

I hope it takes forever to get St. Vincent on this so we can have more kick-ass guests show up instead.

@quasiconundrum: I'm super chill about the thumbnails. As @toxicantidote mentioned, I'm definitely not in the group of "leaving GB because of thumbnails". Just pointing out it's a valid critique of said gag(in a non-obnoxious manner hopefully).

Do ya'll think St. Vincent will actually come on? I mean, I think this show has been excellent so far with the rotating chair of Abby's friends, and would be cool with that.

I hope this series pays off not only with Abby and St Vincent becoming besties with Bjork but also Claire Saffitz joining Jan Can Cook: Ben Appetit. Though truly, it has already paid off because Grace is the best.

@danielryanstreb: The "smart" thing to do is appeal to the demographic of kids with these streams. At least i can see an exec saying that. Then youd use your youngest cast which gb did, especially a screaming face, a girl etc. That said all these things on paper seem to attract people to click a thumbnail like those weird I CANT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPEN thumbnails locked on some girl in a provocative position. All on paper this gets youtube's algorithm or something flowing.

Honestly, in reality, the GB audience is not that demo. IMO the "fellow kids" are already locked into their 4 or so streamers like ninja or pewdiepie. I respect GB trying to branch out since otherwise they'll lose their current audience to aging out of interest in videogame media and have no replacements. Every company has a peek and a boss' objective is to revitalize his or her business to surpass the peek. IDK a good answer thou...im not a fan of wacky thumbnails either.

The thumbnail is just... a screenshot of the game with their pictures layered on top. Nothing about it made me think "Oh no youtube blah blah blah"

Will Abby ever realize that building in Fortnite is way easier with a mouse and keyboard? I bet not.

This seems like a gag that a scrappy new YouTuber with 100 subscribers would try. The notion that a person on a site with a huge following would dedicate an entire series to this bag is hilarious. I wonder if Abby had to get a CBS lawyer to say it was okay to go ahead with naming a series like this.

Now I know Abby and Grace's middle names and I don't want this knowledge!!!
