Wait, so this bad guy felt like having a 15 min window was crucial to the plan, yet trusts that the detective will just play along after the rat threats? Why do they leave him alone and give him the oppertunity to inform the police? Does Carter only have 3 goons working for himself or something? No one available to make sure that the detective is not able to snitch? Yeah you threatened that you would do the rat stuff to his family, but if your plan hinges on the detective doing what he said it would make sense to keep an eye on him, right?

Vinny's incredulity at everything was the highlight of this. I loved that his seemed to be an R-rated movie stuck in a PG-13 body. I'm sure they wanted the rat scene to be a lot bloodier and the main bad guy just wants to move drug money, but it's never specified exactly what kind of drugs. Maybe he has a burgeoning coffee empire.

Nobody has ever tried as hard to understand a dumb movie as Vinny does during the last big action sequence.

I have never watched these, and watching them with this is glorious. Did not expect to enjoy movies or commentary half as much as I did. Whiskey helped.

I've never listened to these before but now I just realize this is just a Giant Bomb version of Mystery Science Theater. I need to rent 2 Fast 2 Furious to watch it alongside the podcast!

So I've only watched the first two F&F movies. Should I pre-watch the rest of the series, or should I watch them the first time with the GB commentary?

@nightriff: FWIW, I don't think 4 is good at all, either. I just view 4 as being more vital, given how much it sets up for the GREAT movies that follow it.

I feel like 2 Fast and Tokyo Drift are the true heart and soul of this film series. They got too serious afterwards.

@eddiephlash: I'm having fun watching the movie myself first, then a second time with their commentary. That way I don't miss anything crucial to the plot, and then just focus on the Beast crew. Usually I wait a day in between. Don't know if I personally could handle watching one movie twice back to back.

Gotta say these have first two have been fun, even if the second was a bit weak. Thanks for this craziness @alex.

God, this one sucks. I've never seen it and met Tyrese/Ludacris way later, so it was nice to see where they came from.

God I can't wait for the next one. Tokyo Drift is so fucking dumb but SO GREAT.

Also while I don't think 4 is the worst movie, it does feel like the most forgettable. I can't remember a damn thing that happens up until the last chase sequence.

New series called This is the run watch movies and play games with the word run in them: cannonball run, midnight run, the run, the rundown, run Lola run. Basically alot of the movies you've already referenced in this movie.

After seeing this numerous times on cable channels, the sheer stupidity of it has grown and I personally love how dumb it is. Also, Vinnys increasing anger throughout the film had me in stitches. This just makes me more and more excited for when they get to Fast Five.

Can someone explain to me why the fuck they needed a 15 minute window to rob a mobile home? The cops are going to respond that fast to a mobile home robbery? I think Alex said that people were watching the mobile home? Why? To be fair, I am also really buzzed off some malt and I may have missed something, but I don't understand why the drivers were needed to rob a goddamn mobile home.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the first one, but wooow this was terrible. I really hope they're right about this being the nadir of the series.

This movie was awful and i'm so glad Vinny hates it, it made it so much better.

Now I can't get over the Dennis Reynolds/boss man comparison now. It's uncanny.

I remember seeing this when it came out and hated it so much it put me off Tokyo Drift. Which I eventually got to and loved it before 4 nearly torpedoed the series for me again. Alex is wrong in saying this is the worst when 4 clearly is.

Now I love this because it is so dumb, but has a certain fun and heart to it, despite the terrible script, that elevates it to be much more than it is. Then TD just does that 100x better.

3=5 > 6 > 1 =2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>7 >>>>4

I think this is a much worse movie than 4 in almost every way, but in a weird way it leans into it (possibly unintentionally) and it works for it. It'd much rather re-watch this movie than 4 - 4 is more competent, but commits the much bigger sin of just being forgettable.

This movie was horrible. I've never understood how people got so riled up by Terminator 1 vs Terminator 2, but seeing people calling this a better film than 1 is giving me some insight. I'm not even super into 1 but damn, at least 1 wasn't this.

I hope Alex is right about this being the lowest point, onto 3...

I laughed so hard when Vinny just started telling them to turn off the movie in the first ten minutes.

Wow, this movie was such a drop off from the 1st. Also, Vinny's man crush on Tyrese and his incredulity at how dumb this movie was, was priceless.

I have a lot of modes I love Vinny in, but "incredulous to the point of anger" at a bad movie/FMV might be my favorite.

The part where he gets pissed off about the EMP harpoon and Eva Mendez's top belonging in The Witcher 3 is so goddamn funny.
