Just seen part 8.

It's the Fastest and most Furious... definitely my favourite despite the (knowing) cheese coating.

Best that Diesel, Statham, Johnson and others have been in years.

Aw, sad to see this end. I legit had a good time with these.

@mustard Totally agree about the plot/action balance. The action should serve the plot. At this point the plot is just an excuse for the various action scenes.

@johnymyko: Totally agree.

While I can enjoy the spectacle somewhat, I'm like Vinny in that it's just too difficult to suspend disbelief most of the time, and I want to! It just ramps up to such a ridiculous degree.

No one could have ever planned this series. 1-3 were a whole bunch of different people juggle it. 4 figuring it out. 5 just getting it. but without the weirdness of 1-3 there would never be the others. that's my conundrum when trying to get friends to give the series a chance.

@doctorsmirnoff:Also just came back from watching Fate of the Furious. Not my favourite but definetely one of the best, I liked it more than 7 but not quite as much as 5 or 6. I cant really rank these movies because the first two were such a big part of my childhood, the nostalgia is simply too strong for those beautiful time capsules. But I can't wait to hear or maybe see what GBeast thinks about it, they're in for a blast.

This was a lot better during the re-watch. Also, the ending wrecked me again.

Thanks for the amazing feature guys!

I just wanted to comment thank you guys for making these.

Many many years ago now, when the first Fast and Furious came out, I really did not like that movie. Vin Diesel was in it, and he's cool, but I hated Paul Walker in it and the movie was a real drag (no pun intended).

I never watched any of the others after that- until now.

While watching all these with you guys at first I thought I made the right choice. The first film is still bad, the second is even worse, and I didn't find the third film to be all that good either. Then four came around, and it turns out Paul Walker was considerably better in it and it was a better film for so many reasons. Then 5, 6 and 7 and... now I'm a fan. 4, 5, 6, and 7 are fantastic action films, and I really enjoyed this.

I never thought I'd cry about Paul Walker until this. He was kind of a Casper Van Dien to me. A pretty boy actor who never does anything meaningful with his characters because he's getting by on his looks. I never realized he actually got better. But even still- no one deserves to die young. I just never thought I'd care about that.

What a ride.

Air dropping Subarus oh yeah! Paul Walker RIP. I really think the tonal shift to make it a tribute to Paul Walker works.

While I think 6 was my favorite of the series, this is probably number two for me, if for no other reason than how well they handled the ending. Through the course of this series of commentaries, Walker's character was the most joked about complete goober by far, and he as an actor was by the Beast crew's own acknowledgement, not in much other than these movies. And yet, that scene still managed to be a really touching emotional moment and send-off for both the character and actor that genuinely made people care.

Having seen the movies a long time ago and not many of my friends liking these movie I so loved watching em again with you guys as voice over! They are solid good car-to-action movies and many of the times it felt like I was there with you.

You so have to keep the Film & 40s series going with other great films. Never thought you guys would make the best damned commentary to movies, Im so subscribing a full year now! :3

I forgot how rough that ending was oh man. Good thing I wasn't drinking while watching this, I 100% would've cried a little, again.

But Nathalie Emmanuel is one good looking woman.

I never would've watched these movies by themselves but with the commentary I was in stitches (from laughter) from beginning to end, I wish there were more movies now. I hope there's much more that Alex can introduce to the team, I'd love to watch more movies with the commentaries!!! Thanks for making this!!! :))))

Me again,

1 ) So, the guy from The Toy that Alex was thinking of was Jackie Gleason.

2) If Ice Cube showed up in a F&F movie, wouldn't that further cement the XXX movies into being part of the canon? They seem to be heading in the same direction.

3) Is a Film and 40s of the XXX series and the Transporter possible?

4) I've thought it strange that Owen Shaw survived being ejected from the plane, and yet Gisele, who fell from underneath the plane, supposedly dies. Granted, she's Wonder Woman now and it kinda doesn't matter, but she could still be alive in a similar state as Shaw.

5) I also think it's strange that, with all the craziness (Letty turning into Black Widow, Brian beating up folks over his skill level, etc.)that goes on in the series, Ludacris being a Hacker is the thing that people have issue with. Sad but funny.

(edit) And this movie is sadder knowing that Brian still hadn't beat Dom in a race.

6) Thanks for these guys!! Just finished my own watch of these and enjoyed them.

The commentary made me cry with the Daniel Day Lewis as a bad guy bit, fucking amazing. And I cried again at the ending. I underrated the film, the drone stuff is still waaaaaaaay to long but god damn that ending, perfectly done.

James Wan deserves a ton of fucking credit for pulling this together in anyway after Paul's death. Bravo good sir.

Final ranking since rewatching:

5>3>7>1>6>2>4

FYI 7 jumped to 3rd favorite from second least favorite, love all of them in different ways truly. Great series of films, as crazy as that is.

Rewatching this, I've realised Dom's Yosuke fight is straight out of Yakuza. All it needs is the DECKARD SHAW overlay.

Only ever saw the second one of these on TV a few times, finally saw the series now thanks to Giant Bomb, couldn't think of a better way to get exposed to this fantastic thing. Super glad Film & 40s came back in general, but extra so since I got to watch this series this way.

I'm late to the party but 6 > 1 > 5 > 3 = 7 > 4 > > > > > > > 2 . For whatever reason I did not like 2 at all, and was the only film I would have turned off if not for GB commentary. Also Tokyo Drift is awkward because I really liked Han and the drifting was cool, but the lead character is dumb and his story is dumb.

No Han, Giselle, and very little Rock brought the film down some notches along with an ending action sequence not nearly as awesome as the last two movies. It was still very good though and man, they handled Paul Walker's death as well and respectful as possible.

This beast commentary, while still good, was clearly the least enjoyable of the series because of the off topic conversations. They are drinking alcohol of course but it was still disappointing considering how that didn't affect them in the other movies in the series.

I didn't expect the end of this to hit me that hard. I've known about it for years now.

Also, always happy to hear a Persona 4 reference.

Just started watching this entire series for the first time with the beast crew. Some ridiculous shit in the first two, almost to a non enjoyment level but they got better 5 and 6 are great. Just finished 7 a few minutes ago. Sad shit, sad.

As a Husky owner, Walker got my love when he did the Eight Below movie. We would put the movie on for her when we would leave for awhile. We had to put her down last summer.

Ending gets me every time.

Upon a rewatch of this movie, Brian never acknowledges that Mia is pregnant again and she definitely does not look pregnant. Maybe that subplot was an addition after Paul's passing to give him a proper family man send off?
