Game of the Year 2010: Day 03 Recap

I still don't think Heavy Rain's VA was that bad. Did they ever explicitly say that the characters were American? I mean they are in America, but last time I checked America was multicultural. I can't remember if they were meant to be American or not though, ir if it was just an assumption on our part.

Bowser's Fortified Fortress reminds me of the Hell levels of God of War. 
 
Basically, I'm comparing Mario to God of War. Didn't really realize Mario was that fucking hardcore.

I am loving that triumphant ass music. Freakin' beautiful.

Vinny is knee-deep in ContROLL. 

This was definitely the most fun game to watch out of the 3 thus far. =D

SMG2 looks like a lot of fun.

I feel like Galaxy is 100x more enjoyable if you master or even use long jumps, side somersaults, backflips, wall kicks, spinning, etc.  You have a ton more control over your platforming. 

I love the parts in videos when stuff starts getting crazy and they all start yelling.

I really can't see how this game can't have the best gameplay of the year. There really is no argument.

Hell yes Galaxy 2. I kind of wish they'd done some gameplay of their choice for Worst Accent so I could listen to some more sweet Heavy Rain talkin'.

Damn, I was really getting into SMG2.

Everyone that hasn't played it yet should know that SMG2 gets even way more hardcore than what Ryan was showing here. The real late game stuff gets challenging in the best possible way.

I really need to get Super Mario Galaxy 2. The first is my favorite Wii game and probably one of my favorite games period, why I've been depriving myself of more of that I have no clue.

Is it just me or did Ryan's Wii avatar look like Andross?

I played a lot of this game, a lot. Basically got all the main stars in a few days of playing. Only got one green star though before I was burnt out. still, that's probably what I would go after if I ever got back to it. 
 
The only pet peeve I have with this game is how the lines for the launch stars are already drawn. It makes it feel like you are traveling on a rail, which you are, but I liked it way better when I didn't know what path you would be flying.

I stopped playing SMG2 after about 20 green stars, but getting every normal star to complete the S World was some of the best platform gaming ever created.

maybe someday .. i wouldnt mind playing the metroids either
 ah well need more time!

You dissapoint me giantbomb. 360 and PC category gets lots of comments but the Wii one doesn't.

I think they recorded all this weeks ago and have been sitting on it, not releasing content they finished and then... not charging us for it.... bastards...

Watching this video really made me want to play some more Mario Galaxy but at the same time kinda satisfied my curiosity for more Galaxy.
