@danryckert The Steam controller is really good for MGS V.

I was really not happy with either a controller or keyboard+mouse in that game specifically. I'm terrible at aiming with controller joysticks. But with a keyboard you don't get to control your movement speed. You can hold CTRL to move at a slower pace, but that just makes you slower than every enemy in the game. Which is really bad if you sneak up behind someone and take them out. With a controller you can move fast enough to catch up to an enemy while still moving slow enough that they won't hear you. The Steam controller isn't quite as precise as a mouse for aiming, but it's much better than using a joystick. Also you can set it up to use gyroscopic controls for fine-precision aiming.

When I was a kid I was really bad about mowing the lawn one summer...mainly because our lawn mower was the worst piece of shit in the world. One day my neighbor with his fancy lawn mower saw me struggling and decided to come help.. Within the first pass he made in his fancy lawn mower.. He ran over a bunch of baby bunnies.. in their little den in the tall grass.. It was.. the worst. I never let it grow long ever again. saved one of them.. but he likely turned into the dexter bunny.

Monday is the start of the week.

Why? Because it's the start of the work week for the vast majority of people.

Any other "start" of the week has no bearing on anything, and is therefore a completely pointless --not to mention confusing-- distinction based on how the calendar is formed.

You don't start jack shit on Sunday, either. It's the end of your weekend, everything closes early or isn't open at all, it just doesn't make any sense to consider it the beginning of the week. We should reform our calendars to represent this, instead of digging our heels in like cavemen.

A rabbit appeared in the game. Vinny shouted, Dan tried to hit it with a pickaxe, and it was kind of funny.

Then it spurred Dan to tell a story.

Vinny said he was really curious to see where this story would go, and then some dark fucking shit got told. That was fucked. This isn't me criticizing you. I'm just saying that rabbit story is fucked.

Dan certainly had a memorable first show with GBEAST.

*Turns out the Huskie part is the crazy part and running over bunnies with a lawnmower is totally regular.

Based on the stuff they've said about Shenmue after that series, I would be VERY surprised if that happens. Especially because they have a lot of content already announced, between regular playdates/blue bombin' and the Yakuza 0/Yakuza series playthroughs theyre doing.

I still love Stardew Valley, was kind of surprised Dan hadn't gotten super far in the actual "life progression" of the game, especially since he was the reason I picked it up. Great stream though, looking forward to Giant Bomb in 2017!

Why would the week start in the middle of the weekend? I was going to ask whether Dan didn't consider Sunday to be part of the weekend since it's the start of his acknowledged week, but he specifically called it a "lazy weekend day".

This is a good one for listening to Dan saying uninformed things.

Really enjoyed this stream. Can't wait for Alex to get back too. 2017 is going to be a great year for Giant Bomb. Beast crew is in for some great times with Dan in the mix too. Wonderful chemistry! What a time to be a fan and member of Giant Bomb.

Does Dan not know about the worms being a thing? It kinda makes me crazy to see them ignored. I only played about 45 hours though. Is it not worth it to worry about them later on, perhaps?

Edit: Nevermind, he did a thing at like 53 minutes. I guess he just didn't see them, maybe?

the rabbit story will haunt us all forever

After not playing since release, I've put in like 30 hours in the last week. The game is still an amazing time sink.

This is going to be a fun year.

I found remnants of a rabbit leg (plus the lucky foot, which my mom made me throw away while explaining that germs exist) in my family's backwoods at about the same age Dan found that massacre, and I'm the same age as Dan... truly some detective work must be done.

You can 100% drink and use pig milk. I stake my reputation on it.

Maaan watching this just upsets me how the PS4 Pro version of this game is completely broken at an OS level. I just wanna play the damn game!

@elthain: yea except everyone who rests on Sunday is wrong by their own book. They should be resting on Saturday, which some Christians do.

@littlehippie: Basically. There becomes a point during the endgame that you have so much stuff saved up that its not really worth it to pull them up.

@skyshadowing: @cagliostro88: Thank you to both of you for putting me in my place. Now that you mention it i remember something about the moon taking 28 days to complete its cycle, so it would only be logical if each of the 4 stages would have a time associated with it.

And i had all but forgotten that saturday used to be considered the most holy day of the week.

Like so many other things in religion, there are usually ancient precedents that far predate that religions interpretation of the world and how it is shaped.

Anyway, thank you for making me that little bit richer in knowledge ;)

Premium once more, here's to another year of decent content! Great to kick it off with a bit more Stardew, waiting for the co-op update before I play any more though.
