Holy crap. Vinny mentions ME2 and Fall of Hyperion in there. Since Hyperion/Fall Of are my favorite sci-fi books of all time (by a wide margin, and having read probably around 1500 sci-fi books in my lifetime so far), and I was constantly thinking about them while playing ME and ME2, I have to agree wholeheartedly.
 
Does anyone know if Vinny actually DID write anything comparing the two? I'd love to read that!

I think they should have just put 4 games in the most disappointing game because DAMN...Force Unleashed 2 was just...uuuuuugggghhhhh. 
 
Also, Jeff probably needs to be slapped in the face. No, just no. It's almost irresponsible of him to hate Red Dead and love GTA 4 in the way that he does. GTA 4 wasnt even that great of a game and yet he praised it so heavily that it is basically incomprehensible that he hates Red Dead so passionately even though he played so little of it. Dont get me wrong, I sorta didnt like GTA 4, and I thought Red Dead Redemption was pretty good but not super amazing. So I dont really care that he didnt like one and liked the other, but it's almost his complaints and reasoning behind why he doesnt like it when he played..."FOUR HOURS" of it. There are some cases where I disagree with these guys but this is one time where I'm complaining not because I like Red Dead so much, but because I feel it's almost embarrassing for Jeff. All I'm saying is if I was one of these guys I would literally tell Jeff (even though he is sorta the "boss" of GB) he isnt allowed to saying anything relating to Red Dead if he doesnt play more of it because his opinions based off of such a small portion that he played so long ago because it's basically nonprofessional.

Says a lot about what they think of PSP if they do a Game Room award instead.

I predict Deadly Premonition for the best and the worst game of the year.

I can't believe Dark Void was not even mentioned. Going back to old podctars,those guys could not praise it enough at prerelease events.

As far as Fallout New Vegas being a technical disappoint...  really?  this is Obsidian and Bethesda.  As much as I love almost all the games those companies have developed was anyone really expecting not having a thousand and one glitches?  I mean I know how society SHOULD work and that we SHOULD get non-glitchy games but the reality of it is Bethesda and Obsidian are going to make awesome games that have the digital version of the plague.  

Al Michaels is on NBC these days. Also, I agree with Ryan. Outside of multi-book hard SF books, Mass Effect is one of the most fully realized SF universes ever.

gotta agree with jeff on the red dead issue. that game put me off so hard at first, although it certainly got better and had an incredible ending

GT 5 completely satisfied my expectations and I really enjoy it. I really think you GB guys built expectations up in your heads, even though you won't admit it. But GT 5 is completely in line with it's own game style, and not trying to follow other games. If they had copied forza... it would just be another forza game. I can go buy forza any time. And I don't even own GT 5 yet, so I am not protecting a persol feeling of investment. I played to 30 rank on that game and still feel that way.

I love ya jeff but you have a questionable taste in video games sometimes. Red dead was the best game in 2010. ME2 was amazing as well but not as good as red dead.

There is no such thing as general taste. At least, there shouldn't be. Because in general people loved Red Dead Redemption to death. Allot of them even say it's the best game they ever played. So I started playing it for that very reason. I just don't see the appeal at all.

I hear the story is great and I intend to finish the game just for that. But the game itself in terms of playing it is awful. Granted, I have only played it for three hours, so I will continue playing in hopes it will change. But it probably won't. I'm not a big fan of the way Rockstar games are done. Everybody loves them and I really want to too, but I just don't see the appeal. It always seems like such mediocre gameplay and lacking polish on things like animations.

Maybe I'm just not a big fan of the way the Housers write. I don't know what it is.

That's perfectly fine. I don't expect everyone to have the same taste. I just mentioned it in this case because Jeff loves to rub in his distaste for RDR. I tend to disagree on a lot of Jeff's taste in games. It's not big deal, though. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling Read dead. At least you gave it a shot. I'll give you credit for that.
