Legit just expected this to be a minute of nothing but Jeff laughing.

Which seems to be almost exactly what he and the rest of the staff said on the recent Bombcast. A new Halo Wars is funny because it is really surprising and no one is really asking for it, but the game was not bad at all.

Halo Wars was an average game at best, personally I was shocked to hear it was getting a sequel.

Quick History Point!

Creative Assembly going in full-force on these fan/fantasy games. First Warhammer and now Halo Wars

First one had some damn fine co-op. Finishing it on legendary pretty much required me and my buddy to be on the same page at all times. It was super fun.

This announcement came out of fucking nowhere, but I'm very happy to see what happens next (although I expect a very different game).

I would equate it to Nier 2. No one thought that was getting a sequel. I'm glad it is, and I'm glad Halo Wars fans are getting what they want.

PS I recall hearing on the Bombcast there was a competitive scene for Halo Wars. What.

Halo Wars was one of those games for me that I always had a fondness for. I played through the Co-op campaign with a fiend of mine and played a few skirmishes. But that was it. Never really a game I expected a sequel for, but I'm really intrigued by the idea of another Halo RTS game on console and PC

PC Gamers like myself would really appreciate the Master Chief Collection coming to PC seeing as they had CE and 2 on Pc then basically said Nah Fuck you guys buy our shitty console! Halo Wars 2 coming to PC is a massive letdown...

Mabe with Creative Assembly at the helm this will actually turn out pretty good, doesn't change the fact that I doubt anyone truely wants this game.

I was asking for it... The first game did for console RTS controls what the first Halo did for FPS controls and the game was fantastic. I think it's just the personal bubble we inhabit; I know Ryan McAffrey at IGN has been campaigning hard for Halo Wars 2 for years, then on the other hand there's a lot of "hardcore" Halo fans who won't even give it the time of day because it's not a shooter. It's telling how insular and divided the gaming community is when this is met with "no one asked for it", but there are widespread GIFs of journalists breaking down in tears for a Shenmue 3 Kickstarter when as far as I know there were like three Shenmue fans who actually liked those games.
