I can't say enough how much I will miss @austin_walker. I actually stopped being a member because the tone was starting to shift with some hires and it was feeling more like the site was transitioning to something that just was not my bag. Then Austin Joined and it was a diverse, unique, smart voice that brought me back. @austin_walker: All the best to you and I'll be following. GB: when looking for someone new, you have the exact type of voice that is needed, just use Austin as the job description.

GB is always good for one gutpunch a year, and right when we were most vulnerable after that dizzying final segment.

Super sad to see Austin go, super excited about his new venture. Gonna miss him on the Beastcast and killing the QLs. This could force me to stop watching games and play some. The Horra.

Incredible stuff. The Lang/Vignocchi power couple bringing their A game again, ably assisted by Beefy Media's own Adam Boyes. Just tremendous work. I need to have a drink with these lads before I die. Which would likely be shortly afterwards.

The conversation between Jeff and JV when it got real is probably the moment of the whole event for me.

Only in this whirlwind of RV's, phones, and autocorrect could something so genuine arise.

Simultaneously bummed out but also happy for Austin. When he first came to Giant Bomb I always had a sneaking suspicion that he wouldn't be with us for too long. I wasn't sure whether he would move on to other opportunities in the video game industry or return to academia but right from the off Austin seemed destined for something better and if anything we were lucky to have him at all. I wish him nothing but the best and will continue follow him in his new adventure at Vice.

Some great shows this year, well done to all involved!

The mood swings this year were intense. I'm pretty sure I suffered some emotional whiplash.

The seismic shifts in tone during the Lang/JV/Adam.B segment are insane. It switches from inappropriate drunken bullshit to sentimental serious real-life shit AND BACK AGAIN several times. But I love it haha.

Being from the UK I have no idea what VICE is and why it's so good... but ok good luck.

Austin was an amazing addition to the GBeast crew after the transition to New York. Sad to see him go, but obviously it was an opportunity he couldn't pass up. Wish you all the best @austin_walker.

Boy, I was expecting the Adam/Johnny V/Dave Lang trio segment to be a trainwreck, but I wasn't expecting it to go as weird as it did, bouncing between drunken nonsense and genuine sentimentality at the drop of a hat.

Of course, that had to be followed up by Austin announcing that he's leaving. These live shows sure do capture a broad spectrum of the human condition.

Also, as hilarious as the second to last segment (the Adam/John/Lang Zone) was, Jeff's real talk to Johnny V about getting fired and moving on from the experience was legitimately one of the best things I've seen from GB.

I love it whenever the three drunketeers show up.

Hearing that Austin was leaving was like getting a gut punch. Totally unexpected, I was loving the crew, and now I feel like Kratos almost comforting his son. Gonna miss you Walker.

Ya, the whiplash between the genuine JV unemployment talk and JV offering to bankroll $1000 Jenga bets was pretty great.

Austin was exactly what Giant Bomb needed. He is irreplaceable, and I can't wait to see what he's going to do. I hear about a popular Youtuber who might make a good candidate for a hire.........

I watched this live yesterday but I'm watching this again cause I have E3 postpartum depression and I need to feel the emotions again!

o7 to Austin, I was bummed to hear him leave yesterday but was just grinning from ear to ear to hear that he's getting his own gaming site gig. I've only been going to giantbomb for my gaming new/entertainment needs but it looks like I'm going to make room for another one! Can't wait!

Had to think about this. I just think one of the developers wasn't prepared for full Giantbomb professionalism.
