@limiter31: Probably on Monday. It kind of sucks but I know how busy the guys have been the last week and they don't usually do things like fix downloads on the weekend.

Yep... Johnathan Blow just compared himself to Martin Luther King Jr.

That happened.

That's not entirely fair, I wouldn't say he used MLK Jr. or Einstein as a point of direct comparison - he used them as extreme cases for a point of aspiration.

Also the end of that segment with them all trying to goad her into having an opinion on Mountain Dew was great, although I don't really know anything about Zoe Quinn, what's the context of that one?

Zoe was part of that really sleazy reality TV show that they tried to make about a bunch of game developers taking part in a Game Jam. If you recall the details, the show's producer was total douchey Hollywood sleaze trying to fabricate crap to make the show "appealing", and it was so bad that the developers started to walk off the show.

I don't know any of the contractual details, but it most definitely had something to do with that.

This great passage taken from the article on the Game Jam from indistatik should explain the context. Matti is the aforementioned producer.

And everyone “got it.” It was a reality-kinda-sorta-thing. Sponsors would be there. Mountain Dew would be there. Dramatic tension was likely unavoidable on some level, and the prizes would be dumb. If anything it was just poor planning, and maybe some questionable brand integration. But no one, not a single person there, expected Matti to push the stuff so unnaturally, barring any drink that wasn’t water or Dew from being consumed while the cameras were rolling. Even the development manna that is coffee was barred from set, and if anyone wanted some, they had to leave their workstations and get it over by where I was sitting – an unlit chunk of Rodeo-side work space normally occupied by someone named Brad. Then came the demands.

Davey was forced to take off his nail polish because he couldn’t hold the can with it on. Zoe had to take off the buttons she usually wears on her jacket, but shouted down a PA who tried to make her cover her tattoos. The Arcane Kids were screamed at for not holding bottles right, while the entire group was lectured on how to properly smile like you’re enjoying the product – a product that everyone was enjoying less and less. The slow train wreck of faces flipping into scowls marked only the beginning of what would soon turn into an utter shitshow.

Rami is amazingly articulate. I think both the raucous atmosphere of some of the other segments and the considered, thoughtful discussion found in the Zoe-Blow-Rami-ND segment have their merits, all that really needs to be done id for the perfect balance between these two types of things to be found.

Alexa is incorrect in her description of Sauron. Sauron took the form of a man when he regained corporeal form in the third age. To quote Tolkien: "Sauron had a humanoid form at that time, large, but not gigantic (Letter 246)" He was never an actual eye, that's more of a symbol/metaphor.

To save anyone else the trouble, all the codes are taken.

I'd like to imagine that they all went to GB Dudes, and not to some screen-scraper.

Great job on these panels everyone, very good to listen to & figuring once they get back to the office this one will be edited down without the breaks. Hope the trip to E3 & back for the GB crew went well. Plus VINNY :)

Also big cheers to the people behind the scenes of the GB crew doing all the videos.

@mrfluke: Nah, I'll stick to my opinion that stuff like that is an absolute embarrassment. Did you read the whole comment before it was removed?

My "some people..." comment might've been a bit too generalizing, but I think it's justified if you take into account a lot of the comments on the day 2 video, the chat during day 2 and day 3 and comments like this one. I love this community, but sometimes this shit gets to me.

I really liked that Ed Boon got his own segment seeing as he been cut off so many times by people who have not as laid back attitude recently. Bombcrew showing that they care about Boonie.

@tuftymctavish: Looks like they haven't updated the raw data file yet. Since they're all most likely off today, it probably won't get fixed until later in the week.

The live show was great as always, but I have to thank the engineers and web devs behind the scenes who have worked on the video player in the past few days. The video player hasn't crashed all week. Great job and keep the site as slick as we've been spoiled to expect it to be!

5 days old and you can't download it yet?! That's 68 cents you spent, just flushed down the drain! Let me know if you need me to wire you some money so you can eat this week!

Why do you need an update when you know full well why the video isn't downloadable yet? There's unpacking to do, there was a weekend in between those 5 days, one of those production guys is setting up shop on the other side of the country, and these things don't just happen because someone snaps their fingers. It's not complicated.

Presumably there are gaps in between the segments, ie dead air? I duno, I haven't seen it yet but that would be my common sense guess.

To all those trolling me, $50 is a real number, and is a significant amount for some people, including myself. I love GB's content (otherwise I wouldn't be here), but one of the features I pay for specifically is a downloadable version of each video, and I shouldn't be faulted for expecting that within a reasonable timeframe, E3 or not.

@unique: You aren't the only one who pays for the site and $50 is a lot to me also.

E3 ended on Thursday, probably took them a while to pack everything up and stick it on the truck, then they had to wait for flights and get into cars to get home. After a stressful week they probably kicked back and enjoyed their weekend.

Not sure what happens on a Monday but historically they hardly ever put videos out on a Monday and I wouldn't be surprised if all their kit was waiting for them when they arrived at work this week so Drew would have to unpack everything and being on his own now I would imagine it takes a while to set up.

Your $50 a year probably pays one persons wages for half an hour, stop acting so entitled and just wait for Drew to sort it out.

You're getting that downloadable video one day very soon and you know full well that you're getting it. You're also smart enough to understand the logistics of what's going on and why that video -- one of hundreds that your $50 annual fee goes toward, so let's not act like you paid $50 for this video, okay? -- hasn't been prepared for you just yet. So factoring that in, combined with the fact that you can still watch this video right now in a slightly less ideal form, you sound like a spoiled child. The fact that you spend 13 cents a day on this site doesn't give you the right to wave it in the staff's face every time you feel like you're owed something. I don't care how significant that money is to you.

Thanks for the awesome work on the video side of things Vinny and Drew! Editing was hilarious as usual.

Like others, I'll wait for the download version. No need for an unfriendly discussion about that though, please stop it guys.
