The overflowing amount of beer ignorance in this mailbag is killing me lol. Hops are in the cannabis family by the way, Dan.

IPAs are the best!! If you can drink a Lagunitas Sucks IPA in all its citrusy hoppy goodness and tell me its gross you are a heathen. IPAs are probably an acquired taste, but isn't all beer? Then again were are dealing with people who consider PBR 'a good solid beer'.....now THAT shit is gross.

@amyggen: Um, absolutely true! Beer (alcohol) is the DEFINITION of an acquired taste, meaning it does not taste good unless you train yourself to like it (or have been brainwashed by society to think you do before you've even tried it). Coming from a heavy substance user of many varieties...

I don't buy that argument. A lot of stuff is "an acquired taste", not just beer, and I've rarely seen anyone argue that the people who like it have just tricked themselves to liking it.

IPA flavour is usually heavy on the hops. Tastes like a pine tree. Not my favorite but i won't turn it down.

i'm pretty sure between my 1st and 2nd time of tasting beer i went straight from "gaah horrible" to "mmm, not bad". i had some wine, random ciders, and some other weird german schnapps (?) between those times, though, so maybe that helped.

IPAs are awesome. Bitter and dark. Lovely stuff.

What is an IPA? I assume it's an Indian Pale Ale and either America is uncomfortable with the word Indian or just lazy.

Dan's knife skills are atrocious.

I'm a so called "hop head" as they say in douchey beer circles. The more hops the better. Just give me a mouth full of hops straight off the vine and I'll be a happy man.

@danryckert, you almost ended up with a Toby Keith restaurant south of you in San Jose. I remember seeing the "future home of" signage at one of the malls down here, but I think the deal fell through.

IPAs are pretty damn gross. I tried one called 8-Bit and it actually tasted like I was drinking a Nintendo cartridge.

"Jeff plays Shogo" comes pretty damn close, though.
