Mailbag: Giant Bomb Mailbags Without Borders

No country can contain this giant box!

What's in the mail? Is it an old T-shirt? A lunchbox full of rusty knives? Video game treasures? Canadian energy drinks?

"There's my thumbnail!"

*Chooses different thumbnail

"There's my thumbnail"

(picks a different thumbnail)

Had Brad gone with that thumbnail, he would have robbed us of the delicious moments between hearing the words "Commando Faberge Egg" - in which we might try to imagine what such a thing would look like - and bearing witness to the majestic object itself.

There are few joys more precious than having your already unrealistically high expectations exceeded.

Interestingly, most of the complaints are coming from people who are not paying members of the site claiming that CBS will give Giant Bomb anything it wants because CBS is a large corporation. Oh, it's nice to dream.

That was pretty nice of that guy to donate a PC, and having heard some of the incomes your average gaming journo gets, honestly, despite all the shit they get mailed, I bet it's still very useful.

Would love them to fire it up though and find all the goatse.jpg files on the disk

Just think of all the starving children who could have really used that Commando Fabergé egg.

I don't think it's that type of egg :)

Er, the Giant Bomb guys have computers already! By my reckoning they have about six just in that room they work in! If you wanted to be a really cool guy you would've sent them something useful like a sweet computer from the 90s!

You could have auctioned this off to the community/given it away as an Extra Life prize or something!

And I'm sure if you'd put the word out on Giant Bomb/the World Wide Web you would've be able to find at least one other person to play Quake III with!

You're crazy!

I love it!

You know what's the most upsetting about that gaming pc is to me? The fact that the guy packed it 1000x better than the guy that sold me a fully loaded IBM 5160 XT (with the color monitor and model F keyboard) on Ebay. That 5160 barely had any protection and the monitor was all busted up. I still feel a drop in the pit of my stomach seeing it like that. Knowing that there are only so many left out there and now there's one less really hurts.

@brad If people like the site enough to send in stuff to you guys and take the time and money to do so, i think its rude to keep saying lets speed this along, cause if your not going to take more then 30 seconds on these awesome duders things, then why brother filming it.

I see that Fantasy Life box! Do a quick look you jerks! It's surprisingly fun and charming for a children's RPG, but got largely ignored because it was released on the same day as Bayo 2.

+1 fun game, maybe not the deepest story or combat system, but IMO, better MMO-lite than Destiny. Yeah, I said it. WHAT?!

Sending the duders a computer out of the blue is a pretty messed up thing to do. Especially when it's a computer that can't even play all the modern games on max settings. Don't send them shit thats going to be a big inconvenience to their lives (at least not with checking ahead of time). The kid had addressed the computer to Drew so I'm guessing he expected what? Drew to take it home with him? and what if Drew had no room/desire for another computer? then what? Try to think a little more people.

The guy said he didn't want it and didn't feel like going through the trouble of trying to sell it so I don't see any problem with sending it to GB. Hell he said there's a 2TB hdd and 16gb of DDR3 in there, I'm sure Drew or one of the guys can get some kind of use out of it.

Haha, glad you duders liked the egg so much! It's my wife that makes those! I don't want to be an walking ad or anything, but if you're interested, feel free to check out her shop, Black to the Fuchsia! She's got some cool stuff on there.

It's not bad to send them an old gaming PC, it's just a waste of the computer and a waste of time. Dude should know that they can get whatever PCs they need from CBS for free, so they're just not gonna have any use for a year old computer. Drew was very gracious in saying they could use it, though.

And they can use it, even if to make it a charity prize or something. I'm also going to be insane for a second and say that the computers CBS gives them wouldn't exactly be top-of-the-notch gaming PCs. Haven't you seen the obvious Dell partnership? ...Dell? Dell computers. For gaming. DELL!

Well, now they have to dispose of it! How is that not inconsiderate?

They are given almost no help from CBSi, and if they want help they need to file a million papers and probably conduct a meeting or two merely for the possibility of getting that help. And I don't think Drew has a gaming PC of his own... or does he? That's probably why it was addressed to him. Also, a 660 isn't bad at all.

edit: wow, these comments... It's the cake flushing video all over again.
