@Quantris: Tapes will continually be used as a preferred backup medium in our lifetime, heck they are up to LTO6 now.... Cloud storage may sometime replace the commonplace backup system throughout corporate environments (especially in a DR situation) but what will backup the Cloud server? why of course tapes!

It absolutely does. Tolkein laid a fair amount of inconsistencies and wrote himself into corners that he ended up disliking later, so a huge amount of his personal notes are just retcons to the Rings universe that allowed him to say everything made sense.

If I'm not mistaken, the term itself does appear in the book. Otherwise, I have no idea how I'd recognize it so immediately when the movie brought it up.

I like KFC. Their chicken is tasty. And their coleslaw is about the only kind I like. I lived in Florida for a year and tried Popeye's and Church's and stuff and didn't like it as much.

Now if you want to talk about their other nasty sides or biscuits I'm with you. But their regular chicken is good stuff.

It constantly freaks me out when they mention "biscuits" on this podcast, because until I googled "biscuit" and found out that it means something totally fucking different in America, I always assumed they were talking about the UK meaning of biscuit, a.k.a. a cookie.

And I asked myself: Why in the fuck would you want to eat a biscuit with anything savoury?

NOW I KNOW. God damn Americans.

Edit: And while I'm on this tangent, why do they call it Chicken-Fried Steak, when there is nothing chicken related in the actual food? It's basically just crumbed schnitzel.

AND why do they call it Country gravy? This is perhaps a slightly more defensible position, as I've always called it White Sauce, which while more descriptive, is equally fucking stupid.

It's called that because the steak is prepared and cooked in the same / similar way one would prepare and cook chicken to be fried. Pretty simple business.

I finally listened to a podcast today, seems to happen when I get my indoor winter projects going. This one is painting the kitchen, a lot to prepping and next priming

What I have to say though is that these guys have gotten very good at their presentation. The subjects were both entertaining and above alll informative. Wish the best for the various components of THQ.

As for fried chicken, I've heard the thing about how KFC chickens are treated but especially on a culinary level, I say that sh*t just waaaaay too greasy, grosses me out to eat their chicken anymore. I usually go to Pollo Loco for a chicken poblano burritto, but I make my own best fried (baked) chicken wings. Utilize a convection oven, no stick aluminum foil and a light spray of olive oil. Use a combo of coatings including Panko, and a chicken bbq intended seasoning and maybe a little white pepper. Served with Tatertots,a veggie and gravy.

Look forward to the next podcast, or listen to the best/worst of for 2012, missed a lot of that. Thank You for the excellent podcasts, helps keep the feet moving.

Yeah, sure it did.

Yeah Popeyes is great... KFC never hits the spot, but the grocery here makes pretty good fried chicken, or... I can not be a savage and just make my own spicy fried chicken.

While that's oddly specific, and inconsistent with other foods that are also prepared and cooked in a similar fashion, my hunger for chicken prevents me from arguing further.

Game(s) of the Generation is a pretty good idea. Like, I'd like to see it done in the same way as Encyclopedia Bombastica. Like, here's this game, here's what it did, here's why it matters. The watershed-moment games, I would like to see a series throughout the year that took that look back. Why does Bioshock matter, why does COD:MW matter, what the hell have we been up to for the past 7 years. That'd be great.

One of the best Bombcasts in a while. The guys had a lot of energy coming off vacation and it stayed consistently solid throughout, even if they barely talked about video games.

Hey Brad, this may help you a bit at least with the consoles. http://computer.howstuffworks.com/power-network.htm, I believe NETGEAR has devices that support up to 500mbps. Connects from an available port on your router and to the power line adapter and then to the other device plunged to the outlet near your consoles, then just plug from your console RJ45 to the one in the device. I have wireless on the 2nd floor of the house and Ethernet over power on the consoles in the basement (wireless doesn't get to the basement), I have no issues streaming NETFLIX on my PS3 and XBOX360.
