Armour is much more useful in Dark Souls, Vinny. Heavy armour and blocking are buffed up, you can guard against attacks and take hits that you'd expect to die from. Or at least, that's what I heard. Weird to hear how strong Brad reenforced that Diablo 3 was a "real" beta, almost angrily. I feel like there is a false sense that video game betas have become nothing more than a marketing move. It's true that they are used partly as marketing tools, but even then, the vast majority them still take feedback and data, and use that to inform development. You don't get that much free playtesting and simply do nothing with it.

I completely agree. Zelda suffers the same problem as the Fable games - it tries do to do too much while also trying to keep it simple to reach a broader audience, which makes it feel disjointed as fuck, like a mishmash of ideas that are never really explored.

The 3D ones, anyway. ALttP was a fucking masterpiece and one of the defining games of my childhood.

Eh. I'm only looking forward to Skyrim and Saints Row The Third. And Batman. But that's it. I'm probably going to wait on one of those. Batman, presumably. Probably wait until it's on sale for forty bucks, which won't take long, because Steam. Still, it's a good month or two for people into games.

Really? I wasn't too hot on TP, but I thought Wind Waker was a good diversion from the Zelda Formula and OoT, yeah it created the formula, but it did it good.

A Zelda game with the Demon's/Dark Souls combat ( Light & Heavy attack and Block & Parry) is far more interesting to me than motion controls to me. Not saying I want it to be as harsh overall, just give the swordplay the depth of the games. Also, I am better at Demon's Souls than 8-bit Mega Man :/

They crashed a helghast battlecruiser that had nukes made of super bad gas. The cruiser crashed into the planet's atmosphere and it blew up the planet's surface. It was quite possibly one of the most ridiculous things ever. A cruiser that is not even 1/1000000 the size of the planet somehow manages to ignite a planet's surface. It's like the ending of Battlefield Earth.

GB's attitude to Demon's Souls continues to baffle me.

I liked Demon's Souls because of the excellent combat system and the awesomely eerie and creepy tone it had. I GUESS it was also difficult, but that was completely beside the point for me. For me, it was a great game that just happened to also be kind of difficult.

The helghast have some super weapon on one of there spaceships that they are planing on attacking the humans with, but you and your team shoot down the ship, causing it to crash on the planet below, releasing it's payload, killing the whole helghast populace. Your team realizes that they just killed the entire planet, and the main character reacts with the line "Jesus, how many people were down there?" delivered completely flat.

It just cuts to credits after that. If that seems super abrupt, it's because it is.
