@patrickklepek RE: Using a Vita as a controller for Towerfall. Is that not possible just by using Remote Play? Maybe not with multiple Vita's, but you could at least use one as a controller this way, right?

Doesn't remote play disable the local PS4? At least that what the PS3 does when you connect to it for remote play. I don't own a PS4 so I guess the systems may behave differently, but if you connect to a PS3 from the Vita the screen on the PS3 turns black with a message about it being in remote play mode, with the option to cancel out of it (which would disconnect the Vita from the system).

The end almost made me cry. Gonna miss not having everybody in one office, and all I've seen was a UPF and some mailbags.

With that Final Fantasy 7 reveal Sony and Square-Enix threw down the gauntlet on video game conference bullshit. It's time for Hideo Kojima to step his game up. He still has that flaming whale in his back pocket.

Sony was sued by the FTC because they advertised (not just promised) online play via 3G (and some other stuff). Did Sony advertise suspend mode? Advertising and promises aren't the same.

@patrickklepek Why do they have to justify creating another Uncharted? If Naughty Dog feels they have another story to tell in that world why do they have prove anything? I mean, sure you could say that a new IP would be cool, if only to see some new stuff from a talented developer, but going back to Uncharted is not a problem.

It's this weird thing that has been happening more and more recently with people bagging on sequels, even when the sequels are sometimes more then two years apart. I understand if you feel like some yearly franchises get tiresome because they don't have enough time to change anything significant, but anything that is around two years makes perfect sense. Like I remember Jeff complaining back when Arkham City came out that he was kind of starting to get tired of the Arkham style games and that blew my mind. Asylum came out in 2009 and City came out in 2011... I just don't understand how a two year break for people isn't enough time for them to maybe want to go back and play something similar. Especially considering how the original thing was something that you enjoyed immensely.

The way they talk about Drawn to Death reminds me of what I thought of Charlie Murder. Absolutely horrible art style, and the game didn't seem fun.

And Drawn to Death doesn't seem like my kind of game, even though I think David Jaffe is pretty cool.

They don't have to justify it, but people are allowed to say that they're quite tired of the franchise. UC is a franchise that hasn't changed much since the first game; it's gotten prettier, but it's still very much a cover shooter with some stealth elements, and a lot of set-pieces.

I got tired by that formula by the end of UC, which wasn't a great game to begin with. UC4 seems very much like more of the same down to the boring climbing sections which were always the worst parts of the games gameplay wise.

TLoU was so great, and I wanted them to make something outside of the UC universe now. UC2 is one of my favourite games of last gen, so it's not like I hate the franchise or anything.

And yes, the FF7 thing was the biggest bullshit announcement in quiet some time. Congrats Square!

Breath in.....The Witcher 2 was in no way broken. They added an super dumbed down tutorial for casual players that bought the game by mistake. It was "press W,A,S,D to move the witcher", "Hey you are standing in dragon fire use the movement controlls we just taught you to get out of the fire" etc...

Breath out

I think it speaks for itself that the only one in the Bombcast that actually played the game to finish didnt know the game was considered "broken" by the masses.

Remote play on PS4 does not disable the console like it did with the PS3. When using remote play on the PS4, the console runs and displays normally. What you're seeing on the Vita is mirrored from what's being shown on the TV, much like the gamepad for Wii U or in-home streaming with Steam. I've never tested using a Vita in conjunction with controllers myself, but here's some confirmation: http://www.ign.com/wikis/playstation-4/How_to_Use_PS4_Remote_Play

@rethla: you should probably @brad your post if you want to be heard and are that upset with supposed misinformation about the game. Personally i don't think it's a big deal at all, but if you really want to effect change or make yourself heard that's a way.

I thnk if witcher 2 were released today in its initial state we wouldn't stop hearing about how fundamentally broken it is and how customers deserve compensation etc. Sign of the times.

Brad has developed a habit recently, or perhaps it's always been there but more apparent now since hosting:

-Brad offers completely ignorant opinion that is entirely incorrect.

-gets corrected

-replies, "huh.. well. Hmm. I guess. We'll see." Then plows on in to some other topic.

It is irritating. Shut thine yap if nothing to add to conversation pls.

I really dislike when Brad mis-remember things and then goes on blabbing with absolute trust in his words. Case in point: the Witcher 2, a game he never player and suddenly remember like being broken. The reactions of Vinny and Jason, people who actually played it at the time, are very telling.

Fucking right. The game ran beautifully at the time on my 6970. The opening sequence was only difficult if you played it fast and loose, and the combat was still very forgiving compared to Dark Souls (which came out four months later and I would argue was more vague in its mechanics). All said the game was perfectly playable and the "big patch to fix a bunch of things and make it playable" added some new game modes and weapons that other companies would have charged for as DLC.

So I figure I will check out and see that dumb caveman Dan Ryckert's new hole. I musts say 2hrs is pretty lengthy stuff for a podcast. Funny advertisements though but seriously you guys need to tone down on the Fbombs. Sort of expect a little more eloquence from people of your profession.

I like your POV for the most part as a cynical ass, your opinions largely mirror mine. But I gotta tell ya guys, you can sure take the wind out of any announcements with your lackadaisical negativity towards almost all titles released. I am not familiar with the crew so I don't know whose who besides Dan and Jason but there is one person who seems to almost against everything revealed. I get that FPS might be your thing but I don't think its the end all be all way of playing a MP game. Then again I do like my 3rd persons more than FPS but I certainly wouldn't be discounting FPS game if its done well enough and given the mechanics and complexity of the game I figure it will allow much more unique way of taking out an opponent than with a headshot.

I agree with GOW to some point. I think the plot went really nonsensical by part 2 (even though it is my favorite of the series) and GOW 3 while epic did feel like fodder for pointless over the top brutality. Sort of hard to back a character with GOW's brutish one side view. But I don't think I am done with their caliber of hack and slash they bring to the table. I sure hope the next installment isn't another dumb and another confusing wrinkle to the lore of GOW staple. So a continuation of how GOW3 ended wouldn't be bad.

Unfortunately, The Odor is a game thats quite hard to defend. It doesn't bring anything new to the table (which I could say the same for Bloodborne, but we get on that later) and I can see it getting a mixed review. But if you are looking for another romp in Gears of War fashion style mechanics without a painful extension of a lore that has outlived its intrigue, then this might be for you. Basically my pull to the game is the cover mechanics, I think its cool that the PS now has its version of a popular mechanic. I guess in a way you can say it can be graphically superior but technically inferior, but then I have not gotten my hands on it yet. But like the Renaissance and victorian age, Arthurian legend is a subject that has been used and abused any many entertainment mediums. Unfortunately its a safe bet, that is why you can see Ubisoft only focus on the East in the first AC and then quickly move the whole time frame to a well known era in the West. Honestly, I didn't like 2 as much as most, I thought it was a well made game no doubt, but its change to a more generic time frame and character sort of deflated my hopes and brotherhood was a precursor to a terrible practice and shoddy quality on retail with the yearly crap. Anyway after seeing a game like blackflag I would be glad if they bury this title for a while. But I don't see that happening, meaning and context is least important as exhibited by gamers like Dan where fun is mostly the mechanics of the gameplay. So people will complain about unity but a month from now will probably be licking Ubi's boots. Clearly after being awarded the turd for so long EA is now considered to be the "good guys" lol.

Also Dan, you need to make a surprise visit to GI for a replay episode. I don't mean to offend the guys, they have been great trying to fill in the void but its not the same. Everyone gets along and no one really gets angry at anyone any more... man I miss the overblood replay days...

Tim: "Dan, Shut up! Shut up Dan. Dan, Shut up! Shut UP!! muwhahahah gold.

So I had to look up what the hell "malt liquor" is. The internet tells me it's just beer with at least 5% alcohol by volume. So.. it's just an ordinary beer then? In my world the word "liquor" sort of implies distillation so I was expecting ethanol infused beer or something. Lame, America. Lame.

It wasn't broken though. The game was just obtuse about some stuff. If you were going to call it broken, you'd call the Souls games or Spelunky broken. The game worked fine, it just didn't make it easy to understand what was happening right off the bat. I didn't think it was too hard to discover how to play the game, but the added tutorial was a nice change too I guess.
