Talking so long with the high caller about Taco Bell seems like a betrayal of Dan. Unless it was Dan putting on a voice.

No amount of snubbing in GOTY podcasts will be as criminal as the Wendy's snub in the fast food call. It's even cheaper than $5 and tastes a lot better!

Was the first caller high? Also Popeyes has a $5 box that put's KFC's to shame.

I'm old enough to remember when they were called cinnamon crispas. Then someone came along and decided that name was dumb lets just call them twists and change the shape.

The $5 at my Taco Bell is not the same as the thumbnail, but it's good. The $5 box at Church's Chicken is also pretty great.

Every single time that creator of PUBG gets out there to talk about "protecting the brand of PUBG" I dislike him and the game a little more. I can't remember the face of a developer who has come off more smug with as much hubris, at least in recent years.

I love that Jeff's story about playing genesis on a generator. I grew up in rural Illinois. We'd lose power all the time. One winter, due to an ice storm, we lost power for 2 weeks. I remember playing Metroid on the NES powered by the generator, huddled in a blanket, scribbling down passwords by the light of the fire. I read The Hobbit and the first Lord of the Rings during that storm.

@gwenners: You're not wrong; this is a crazy good value, especially when the Double Stack is in play. My only small defense would be that the 4 for $4 doesn't come in a box, and it's not $5 even. If I had opened it up to alternate pricings, I would have been obligated to include the Munchie Meals, and then it just becomes unfair. Chicken Tater Melt has no peer.

I get why it happens but I wish all the Extra Life stuff didn't seem like it had to happen in November/December. Crowds a lot of stuff together (and a lot of less prominent people out) when it'd probably be more beneficial to everyone if it happened here and there a few times a year instead of all at once.

@zoofame: That's how I remember it feeling. It was like camping out indoors. School had been canceled for most of that time so I had no responsibilities other than to forage for food in the kitchen and hunt some space pirates. All the while outside every surface and every object was entombed in a half inch of ice. It was a magical period that you can only have as a child.

I can't believe Americans can get so much food for $5. No wonder there's an obesity problem. Fuck sakes, in Canada you'd get just a sandwich at Tim's and it's 6 fucking dollars. No meal.

Jeff and I apparently have similar Taco Bell habits. I also build off the #8 , as well as avoiding supreme versions and boxes 'cause I'm picky about what goes into them.

Keep in mind these boxes are specifically supposed to be better deals than normal. Combos at fast food joints here typically run more like $6-8. Also, I don't know if you were already accounting for currency exchange, but Google tells me $5 USD is $6.41 CDN.

I've been telling my girlfriend how stupid they are for like 3 years now. We have a DQ right by my house and it says "$5 BUCK LUNCH" real huge and it's like... what the fuck is a five dollar buck?!

I don't see how having access to affordable meals is an obesity problem. For some families $5 is a lot of money and if they can feed themselves at an affordable price, then they can also pay the rent and utilities. You might be exaggerating how much food you actually get for that $5. As someone who buys these deals a lot (can't afford your $6 sandwiches or I would be broke and starving) its not that much food.

Just a small criticism for Ben's production work. Dont keep people to long on the line wheb their mic is really crispy/hot/crap however you want to call it. Nothing against mr high duder, but it was kind of torture on the ears at some points.
