As someone playing threw these games for the first time (starting at DS1) I feel the need to ask will DS2 be vanilla or does Danny hate himself enough to play Scholar of the First Sin?

I just reupped my Giant Bomb subscription because of all these new shows. This episode is hilarious so far (only 15 min in), Tamoor is a riot and his chemistry with Danny is incredible.

I love everything about this - The dynamic, the style of editing, the slightly more "professional" presentation than your normal GB video. It is a great balance to what the rest of the site has traditionally been!

So... this is extremely fun. Love Danny and Tamoor's energy. Tamoor especially cracked me up loads in this episode. I'm really excited for more! It had powerful Giant Bomb energy right from the get-go, honestly. Reminded me of the good ol' Load Our Last Save's of Demon's Souls from way back when.

Disappointed that the title of the episode isn't "Tuna Supreme Loves a Lever"!

Loving this so far. I've seen Tamoor on a couple of GB things before, getting him in a more concentrated form in this series is gonna be great. In general, I just really enjoy the "huge fan of series guides new player through games" format.

Some thoughts

• They should really turn the subtitles on in the game, especially if they're going to be talking over the conversations.
• The fact that they're calling the enemies "lads" is hilarious.
• Kind of suspect that Danny is "playing dumb" a bit here, could maybe stand to cut down on that a bit.
• Hope they don't feel too much pressure to keep the episodes short. Part of what makes GB content great is that they take their time and give you a lot of runtime.

As a very casual appreciator of these games I wasn't quite sure how enthusiastic I would be about "yet another" playthrough series of them, but that uncertainty was wiped away within minutes. Fantastic first episode! And I actually love Sekiro so I'm most excited for the boys to get to that one. For now, loving the Metal Gear Scanlon vibes.

I prefer soul level 1 character so I can build them how I want and not have wasted points. Which in this game is Royalty and actually comes with things. But when I played through the PS5 version I went Barbarian to club enemies to death and more importantly have the rags on with no weight or armor.

Kind of wish they had emulated the original instead, then again there's already a full run of that on the site, and Demon's Souls remake is basically unattainable so it'll be neat to see it too despite misgivings.

Great first episode, can't wait to see more!

I know I gave this show a bit of heck for being another one of these and a Prepare to Try clone in a lot of ways but dagnabbit I do enjoy hanging with Danny and Tamoor. In all honesty I'd love if they did something with the RKG(former ign uk guys that did prepare to try) boys for a stream. UK on blast mode.

I'll probably stick around =)

I agree with Roadshell's bulletpoints. Eventhough it's clear that they've decided to let the actual story of the game take a backseat to the banter (i could youtube the intro), there's no harm in having the subtitles up there for people to read along with. I imagine that the third bulletpoint is mostly down to this being an introductory episode. I had a fun hour for what it's worth.

That amiga game that Danny mentioned sounds quite a bit like Back to Bed. It's worth checking out if you like puzzle games.
