The reason you skipped the first save is because you rented most games and hoped that people by default would use/overwrite the top save and keep yours alive for the next time you could rent it.

Dude, Stanley Cup. I got this as a gift from a grandparent. I didn't know the first thing about hockey, and kinda hated this game, but damn if I didn't just play the shit out of it and beat it out of sheer youthful summer boredom.

Also I love how this was just an excuse for Vinny to play FF4 and FF6.

Watching Vinny get pumped over some sweet ass SNES games is good as hell.

Aw man, the nostalgia is real, amazing stream. Shout out to Mystic Quest, it was such a good gateway rpg. Also when Vinny put the cover on top, he blew my mind, I only had a few covers growing up, but never even considered putting them on top.

What kind of monster puts the dust cover on top of the cart? It was meant to protect the cart from damage; putting it on the top does nothing!

you put it on the top while playing so you don't lose/crush it

The older SNES cartridges didn't have that scooped cut-out at the bottom because they were originally designed for the power button to latch into the slot and lock the cartridge in while the system is turned on. Sometime after launch Nintendo changed the cartridge design so it wasn't so finicky about loading/unloading cartridges. The dust covers remained the original shape in order to be compatible with both old and new cartridge shapes.

They say being too young for RPGs but I was totally playing Dragon Warrior 1 when I was 5 years old and loving it

Damn FFIV and VI still hold up well. Such memorable music.

I hope this happens again. I would watch dozens of hours of this.

This was a delight and I really appreciate when they picked games less covered on the site.
F-Zero and Mario are astounding games but we've seen (and played) them many a time.

Vinny, Vinny Vin. Brothers from a different mother. Vinny is who I'd want to shoot the breeze with because our game taste is so similar. We're about the same age and now I learn, of the few SNES games we owned, we both had: FF2, Out of this World, Super Scope 6 (ugh), Sim City and Wing Commander. Vinny! We both know that point and click adventure games on PC were the best writing in games for so many years. If you need another couch person I worked at Sony Santa Monica and Ready at Dawn. Mostly I just want to drink and talk about how great The Dig is.

Nothing confuses me more than people talking about how the old FF games were numbered.

This is so great! Vinny was even doing the trick of making the square zones with a blank square in the middle and rails rails everywhere. I'm so happy!
