I still love that they think the Reaper IFF is the last mission.

@mightycarrion: The Reaper IFF is the point of no return mission. Doing it locks the player into a certain course of action to avoid something bad happening.

That's because Mass Effect 3 was rushed out 2 years after the 2nd game and had its ending changed last minute after it leaked. If that game had another 8-12 months of development, it would have been great. But for the last Mass Effect game, it has a couple of good moments.

IIRC can't you over feed the fish? Maybe twice per episode was too much.

Whoa whoa whoa wait. Did Vinny and Alex just say they use Ben-Wa balls to relax stress? Ide like to picture Abby in the studio laughing her ever-loving ass off. For all the things Dan has been earnestly wrong about, Alex and Vinny just topped them all in 3 swift sentences.

They couldn't have started this episode ANY BETTER. (I had to check the end before a full play because of the comments.)

(Edit 2) In a previous conversation, Mordin mentioned the ways he wanted to spend his last decade. So, @alex was right in saying that he's likely 30 or so.

(Edit 3) @alex can't be too upset with his fish dying, seeing as how he didn't take the opportunity to be friendly enough with Kelly to where she'll feed your fish for you. It's kinda romancey, but she doesn't count as one of the people you love about with like Jacob, Garrus, or Thane. (A reddit thread I found in confirming what I could remember called her a 'slam-piece'. Kinda rude, but yeah?)

Since I had a free copy of ME:2 years ago and had never tried it, i played it after watching the first episode. And I remember someone commenting on Ashley and the aquarium. It goes to show, building that relationship even if casual can save you the hassle of feeding the fish

This game is so great.

I like when you shoot your shot with Samara she gives you an “If I was 200 years younger I’d throw you around the floor but I’m over sex now” it’s such a little bug quality line that gives you so much about the character

Alex, I had the same trouble in that crashing ship mission as you.

@threeoct: I you choose to "keep it professional" at the very beginning nothing happens with Chambers at all. She's completely locked out.

absolutely. 3 has legitimately great character moments despite its manifold issues.

@bludgeonparagon: Yep, he should get 100% but I wish Alex would have been left to his own devices more. Part of the fun was living with mistakes and seeing how it all played out but he has been pushed into not making them even if the reasons have not been explained. I think it would have been far more interesting to see Alex playing through the series instead of him playing through a perfect run of the series. Either way, still enjoy it and looking forward to the rest.

Many of those unexplored systems have small side quests (like the crashing ship).

@matiaz_tapia: Yeah, when Alex didn't even go through with the part where Shep Shep could call her Kelly instead of Chambers, I knew that option was over.

I'm on mobile so I can't tag spoilers, but is that smuggled cargo what I'm thinking it is? That little puzzle piece Alex seems to be missing.

While not in my Top-5, I still like Jack as a character. All teh characters have a thematic through line of "do the end justifies the means?"

Each character has story that touches upon either their own, their parents of their children's actions that are criminals at best or horrific at worst. And, of course these stories all highlight Shepards own questions about if working for Cerberus is a "end justifies the means' question.

But, why I like Jack is that she in one of the few where the 'means' are extremely horrific. Her crimes include piracy, kidnapping, and murder. She was abused, but most of what she does with her life is wholesale slaughter of mostly innocent people just to "off" a few Cerberus personal. I think she is one of the more extreme examples of someone Shepard can choose to save, yet who does needed to be in a prison or dead at the end of the mission. [She is the Maggott (Telly Savalas) characters of Shepherds "Dirty Dozen mission, right?"]

I think a more satisfying end for her would have been death. The sort of redemption arc they can have for her in the next game is rather shallow. I would have paid good money if at the ending credits a "Renegade" choice popped up. So, if Jack survived to get the "All Survivors Award" Shepherd can STILL just blows her head off. JMO

I knew it was just a matter of time before those fish died. I've played through ME2 loads of times and I don't think they ever survived.

Are they purposely skipping over EDI?

I recently played through Mass Effect 2 and I killed so many fish in that play through, thankfully I unknowingly did what ever you had to do to get Kelly to feed your fish for you and I never lost another fish.

Might be worth checking in on EDI next to Joker and seeing if she has any new dialogue. I know the last few times didn't have anything but she occasionally has some good stuff that is worth hearing, and I think she has some more dialogue after the coming mission.

Also, RIP the fish. The episodic format of the series was all that kept them alive. I remember mine dying right away every time I bought them :(
