Wow, so much happened on this episode. Having not seen this before I didn't know about the Raiden bait and switch.

For a guy who plays flight sims and the like with a HOTAS setup, Drew has a remarkable ability to forget what buttons do on a regular old Dual Shock.

Bait and switch... to a better character.

I was really looking forward to Drew's reaction to the ol' switch-a-roo Kojima pulls but I kind of feel like the surprise is spoiled a little bit by Dan being like "Oh man some shit's gonna go down!" He's not giving the plot away per se, but stuff like that never hits as hard IMO once someone has built up your expectations.

EDIT: To be fair I guess Drew says he already knew a big switch was coming so you're off the hook, Dan.

Just realised you can hear @unastrike give the cue to call it faintly about ten mins from the end ("I'm off air(?). Lets do the single thing and then call it"). Freaked me out for a second as I couldn't work out where it was coming from.

This... makes no f*cking sense. Yup, it's a Metal Gear game.

Well it figures you guys buy into that Osama garbage but still disappointing to hear it actually come out of your mouths.

I can confirm that in the original version you did not have to play the tanker section before the plant. This was the main cause of me flinging the game aside in frustration because it made no sense and never returning to the series. Watching this now, it all makes a lot more sense, and explains why I didn't recognise anything from the first two episodes at all.

And now I remember I actually played the PC version, not the PS2 version, so I might be wrong. Still, that stupid menu option basically ruined the entire series for me.

Also, the author of No Easy Day, Matt Bissonnette, is mostly looked down upon by the Spec-Ops community because he allegedly inflated some stories and violated TTP (Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures) by revealing too much information in his books. Plus a bunch of other controversies relating to his mouthy-ness.

Essentially: He's probably not that cool, although he's helped accomplish a lot for the USA.

The "Drew, I came prepared" moment was gold.

Did you know in this part of the game, if you look up on the balcony you can sometimes catch the russian soldiers sneaking into position ready for what happens in the cut scene? It took me about 10 years to notice that I think, nothing will ever come close to this game for that level of attention to detail.

Gene soliders enhanced by science, Liquid absorbed 6 of his siblings in the womb to become the most dominate, and nano machines run rampant. To me it made perfect sense that attaching am arm from a freak, genetically enhanced super solider(liquid) to a normal human, would alter that persons state of mind. Even though we find out more about it later, Im surprised how they react and Dan plays stupid. We learned all this in the first game.. If you get an infection that spreads to your blood, you're in deep trouble. His blood flows through that arm soo... I mean I can see someone saying its dumb, but all of MGS is kind of dumb. This fits.

Now I see why Dan likes MGS so much. Like wrestling, it's a soap opera for guys.
