Thought the game was hinting that you'd be able to reactivate the electrical floor to shock the Gekko, is that a thing?

Isn't the Mk. 17 rifle way better than the AK in this game?

@jaxley: That's definitely what you need to do, you even get bonus Drebin points for it IIRC.

You know, this is a stealth game, fighting that gekko is the last resort.

I think I've finally worked out what the next premium thing can be after this series is over.

It just dawned on me: it was always Konami who infused MGS with discussions about ethics and stuff. They forced it on Kojima who just wanted the jiggling boobs. Such a misunderstood company.

BEST. WEEK. EVER. This game came out 8 days after my 18th birthday. I got the fox-unit fox tattooed on me in honor of the "last" MGS game.

When they were leaving the room where Snake and Otocon first met and the Gekko dropped down, you could use metal gear mk3 too turn on the electric panel and fry it lol.

And Drew, just tranq the Gekko's legs and they will just fall over because theyre legs are asleep and lay into its weak points.

@danryckert@drew All that work you spent fighting those Gekko, when it takes like only 3 tranq darts to their ORGANIC legs to knock them out :P

As someone who got a Star Wars tattoo when I was 17 a few days before The Phantom Menace was released: I hope you like Metal Gear for decades to come.

Poor Drew, gets comments whether he shoots Gekko legs or doesn't shoot Gekko legs.

Could the game have hinted at using the electrical floor to fry the Gekko any harder?

Sometimes I wonder why there's no nuance in modern games and am saddened when everything has to be explicitly spelled out, then when I see obvious hints fly over the heads these two I think 'ah, that's why'

I would love to get the total time spent by Hayter grunting and coughing in the VO sessions for this game.

As much as I love 4 (it is my fav in the series fyi), I gotta agree with the way they handled the bosses' stories. It's all types of super dumb, lazy writing.

That said, you could say that about most of the bosses past MGS1. Though none of them are quite "fleshed out" as lazily as they are in 4, I would argue the vast majority of the bosses in 2, 3, and even Revengeance aren't memorable because of who they are, but rather because most of them were such cool fucking fights.

Meh, whatever though. I still think that as homages to previous bosses in the series, the bosses in 4 knock it out the park and while they weren't the greatest the series had to offer, they were still fun.

Also they've completely forgotten the "Items" menu on the pause screen, haven't they? They keep talking about wanting something to restore psyche, yet they've got 10+ Regains in their backpack that they just don't currently have equipped.

EDIT: @unastrike I'm so glad you brought up the Beauty bossfight easter eggs, Jason. I was really hoping it would be brought up by the final B&B battle. Also check out my comment in the previous Part because I thank you in it for doing this kind of thing.

To be fair, it only temporarily cripples them for about 20-30 seconds, but they can't sound an Alert no matter how obvious you make yourself during it, so you tranq them and then either just run by, or pound on them with LAWs/C4/etc to the face

@babychoochoo: I really love the B&B Corps' robot suits. It's the coolest bit about the bosses in Revengeance too, except for the mad speech of that final boss. The MGS universe has some cuper cool robot/cyborg designs. I guess they aren't all that original(someone asked if every boss was a spider-man villain a few episodes ago, and the guys in Revengeance all have One Piece characters' abilities), but they all look amazing to me.

Without hyperbole, I honestly don't think I've ever heard a single person in my entire life pronounce it in a way that rhymes with "bomb". I've only ever heard it the way Dan said it, rhyming with "plum."
