@danryckert, as much as I think you're a giant baby, I'm 100% with you on dancing. Gave it a couple tries because my now-ex was really into it, but as nice as the people are, it's just not for me.

That said, wrestling is totally analogous to dancing.

the moment that Online tutorial showed up, I switch the game to offline mode and never looked back.

I only notice I can have a 2nd base watching the previous episode. I beat the full game with like 50ish member in each departments.

Can we get a fund set up to protect Drew's base with insurance for the length he needs to beat the game to help him avoid the BS? I would never suggest giving Konami money for the sleaze of it under any other circumstances, but for the sake of a video thousands of people are going to be watching it might be worth it.

I tend to think that Quiet knows what she's doing. I'm going for her being right about that guy.

Dan is a magical creature.

I totally got lucky on the two engineers mission and beat it in like five minutes. They were both by the tent. Drew also missed some fairly important dialog from both of them, by fulton'ing them immediately. Should make for a surprise later.

I am a total Burkov tranq pistol convert after shilling for the riot SMG most of these episodes.

I ignored all the FOB stuff and have never been attacked. I think Rorie said something similar. I imagine people at the super low online ranks are just trying to get through the single player. At the same time, when the servers went down I went from 2.5 mil GMP to 500k GMP until they came back online and that was quite a scare. Now that is messed up.

I don't think I can hear Dan say "Cool" anymore more

@javk: I fear what Dan's ideal society would be. I mean he's playing it up yes but it's always weird going between "everyone be themselves, I don't care" vs "people should do cool guy stuff." It's can be grating I feel.

Is this some bizarre social experiment we'll all find out about later? "What happens when people watch something where the hosts take the exact opposite advice of everyone watching?" Becoming more and more convinced there is an element of that happening here. Not sure a reasonable person would come to the conclusions Drew and Dan come to on their own.

The definition of insanity is posting in Metal Gear Scanlon videos about tranq pistol / mission briefings / legendary gunsmith / camouflage / etc. over and over, and expecting different results.

I love Drew and I love Dan (in his own way) but I can't watch these anymore, knowing that Drew is not enjoying this great game as much as he could be because advice that people have been posting since the early episodes hasn't reached him.

Man maybe I take it all back, they should look at the comments for as many tips as possible............ At this point it isn't spoilers, who cares, it will make it better for everyone watching, and make this actually watchable. This game only technically has a story anyway as well, but I mostly mean gameplay stuff. I have sympathy for Drew clearly not enjoying this game, and I justify him trying to ignore the absurdly stupid systems. However, at some point he needs to put some effort to at least look at upgrades, not just say how he wishes he had a silenced one of something, and not bother to look how he could get it with half a second in the upgrade menu.

Not to mention him pretty much ignoring all the advantages of stuff that would better suit his playstyle, such as Camo[seriously he plays in a way that he SHOULD be using the different camo, and that stuff is easy to manage, not even an issue unlike snake eater] and other stuff.

As far as Dan's fashion stuff, I feel I have surely seen him talk about his shirts he likes because they are cool and stuff. However, I do partially agree with him. If you are buying something because it is trendy or whatever, that is just silly. Buy stuff because you personally like it, or like how you look in it. However, Dan clearly buys stuff all the time because the thinks they look cool, as has been shown many times on this website.

I think Dan needs to analyze logically what he was saying about this truly, as he very much doesn't actually live by these values he seems to think he does. In some areas he does, but just like everyone else he buys stuff because he thinks they look cool all the time for vanity and other similar reasons, he just has different tastes over what he likes.

Not condemning that he does that, just saying because it isn't cars or high fashion like some, doesn't mean he doesn't do it, when he clearly does. Just take his MITB briefcase with all he has in it. He buys that stuff because he thinks they look cool and he wants to have them. The amount of absurd stuff he buys I can't believe his lecture he gave on "I only buy practical things and nothing with vanity." Keep in mind I am making a difference between him buying that stuff so other people think he is cool, vs buying it because he thinks it is cool. I feel his main point was buying because others think is cool is stupid, which I agree, but he got off on this whole frugality holiness tangent that undercut his point.

Dan please stop talking about everything

Dan's expression when Drew misses the stairs to the top level of the boat and instead decides to jump off the edge, right after Dan has indicated he was heading the right direction, was hilarious to me.

And dudes, just do the FOB thing once if you want it to go away. Your stubbonness is beyond asinine at this point. I'd been enjoying the last 4-5 episodes without any complaint.

On the plus side, hitting those heavily armoured dudes with the rocket launcher is exactly what I do and it's fantastic! And I've been waiting to see Drew's reaction to the cutscene at the end of this episode. Definitely a cringe in pain moment. He's not going to like what comes of this.

I think they mentioned lord of the flies when they saw the pigs on a stick or dan did (which amazed me from his stories I am amazed he had time to read anything) they missed the conch though but that would be one you would need a pretty good memory of the book (as opposed to the movie) to remember.

That knife teeth thing is easily the hardest thing I've ever had to watch in a game. The eye needle in Dead Space 2? Didn't bother me. Paz's impromptu surgery in Ground Zeroes? No biggie. This guy's teeth shattering? The absolute worst.

Oh, yeah... err... Unwatchable feature, Dan is the devil, Drew shouldn't be allowed to video game, etc. etc.

The multiplayer FOB invasion stuff is really not a concern. The game appears to only allow invasions against high ranking players. I was never invaded until long after I beat the game and I've never been offered invasions against someone who hadn't beaten the game.

At 36 min, you can replay any mission I think, those ones that are in white are simply the ones that don't require to launch them from the ACC since they take place on Mother Base.

Also I wish Drew would spend some more of that GMP on developing cool stuff...

@thetravellingman If you guys have seen the Mission 51 stuff, that definitely seems like it could also be Lord of the Flies influenced.
