Murder Island: Murder/Island

I really love that it brings the offices together, but I'm ready for another multiplayer game. As fun as PUBG was to watch in the beginning, it gets old. The fog run this time was the most exciting thing to happen just because it was something different.

Edit: I guess the monkey's paw result of this wish is that I might get 30 Destiny 2 streams once everyone's got their hands on it

There are plenty of other games they can stream with the west guys at home.

It just occurred to me we are getting this..instead of 'Other things they could be doing". and..yah, I think I agree with that sentiment. This is a great series, but its not a game with a definitive end-goal..at least not one they have been pushing from the very start of the video series.

Like if they got a chicken dinner on camera I think maybe that would be an obvious stopping point, but its not like they have stated the intention to do that. This is just "The two coasts get together to play a fun multi-player game together". Which is great but..at what point do they move on?

If they are not considering other games to play cross-coast, I hope they start soon. I love the staff interacting, but at some point there can be too much of a good thing.

I used to adore these videos but after like 10 it got to a point where I would watch 2 or 3 hours of people picking stuff up and not engaging, end up falling asleep and mostly just skip these now.

My first game of pubg I got 4th place with 3 kills and haven't touched it since. I got all I needed from watching this series and boy is the community doing everything in its power to make this game a toxic hell hole of stream snipers, and an absolutely insane number of cheaters. The amount of videos of wall hacks and things people have made to ruin this experience is staggering ... if you don't know about it well you probably are getting wrecked by it.

One of these streams they had the same player kill them twice in two separate matches back to back and no one even mentioned the stream snipers. There are communities out there who wait for live streams like yours just to prey on easier teams.

I enjoy the optimism for a game and cross coast content is always great but please mix it up a little more as the puBic content is becoming excessive.

Also nier is way better than pubg for goty. I don't even like stories or music in games but in nier I'm 55 hours in and still finding joy in upskirt mayhem the game.

Man Dan, I know you love that movie, but that title is a kind of stretching it.

Thought the title this week was a "Lust, Caution" reference for a second and was very impressed.

I think they figured out it was Alex's setup but you can still hear a thumping the whole last match, so I don't think he fixed it. It sounds to me like he's lifting up his mouse and bringing it back down on the desk.

Their whole strategy is bad, they move from settlement to settlement, they role up and assume nobody is there and then get got.

Every time Dan says molotov... I think he is saying "mulata" and I get super confuse.

The teamwork is getting better. They just need to come up with strategies on what loadouts each of them have. Everybody having two assault rifles doesn't help your gameplan because there will be times when you need different styles of weapons.

I watched every Monday and couldn't get enough but now it just sits on my second monitor and I'll sometimes glance over while doing something else. They've been playing for quite awhile now but their tactics just haven't changed so it's just not even that exciting or even dumb any more. They only just learned you can peak around corners but they'll never use that to their advantage. The biggest mistake you can make in PUBG is assuming that you're alone but they do it all the time. Maybe they should take a break from it and return when there's some significant changes. The fog is a big deal in some ways because it no longer means that distance is no longer an advantage to good players but the crew have zero capability in dealing with any sort of shoot out be it at long range or close. The fact that they all got rolled by one dude speaks volumes.

Alex seemed kind of absent during a lot of those gun fights, especially during the running fight in the town near the bridge.

Good to see Dan being a more team oriented player but wish he would have learned that from like literally everyone yelling at him while they've been playing PUBG instead of having a random epiphany while playing Destiny. Because sadly, calling out loot is probably not a thing he'll pick up from playing Destiny which means it won't be transferable here. But still, kudos to him for improving!

Maybe it's just not the game for you then but I highly doubt you happen to have stream snipers (if you're even streaming) and cheaters in your game that happen to have affected your game. If you're basing the experience on all these videos of games that you're seeing and not actual games that you yourself are playing, then I highly recommend just stop watching and to play some more. I'd say 90%+ of games that I've played are good good times.

I'd say the vast majority of games seemed fair. There is a handful I have wondered out. And when I was in a jeep lately chasing another jeep in solo, someone leaned out shotgun side and nailed me. That was a surprise.

Personally, doesn't bother me if they continue this. Not meaning to be selfish about it, but if it's another game, I hope it's something I like, because I am probably only moderately enthused with most of GB's other lets play/playdate content, now that Yakuza's gone. And it does get west/east together, that I really like. I know Brad has Dota, but I like him in this, also.

And I agree, kudos to Dan to chipping in.

Can they do this with Destiny 2?

Dan knowing full well that Jeff needed a level 2 vest but waiting until he'd checked the rest of the house before saying anything...also at a time when Jeff was distracted...was infuriating to watch.

@frytup: I also agree. Enjoyed the first few vids. Skipped the last few. Honestly the game looks like a glitchy, crummy mod to me. Im not super into mp games anyway, but this game looks like it could be played in a browser on newgrounds...

The Polygon crew got a chicken dinner on stream today. Yes, the group so bad they named themselves Awful Squad. Just need a little focus and a lot of luck. If they can, anybody can.

So I still believe in Giant Bomb. It's gonna happen.

Most frustrating moment for me: VInny and Jeff actively considering jumping off the bridge and getting a water pick up... and Dan runs the ship aground a few seconds later, leaving them with no option.

the idea of dropping pubg coverage is short sighted because there's nothing else like it to replace it. pubg didn't replace anything it just wedged its way into the content. when it's gone what will fill its place?

That room where they got wiped by 2 melee weapons and a 9mm pistol was a definite highlight

Jeff's guy looks waaay too much like a Breaking Bad cosplayer.

I will say people complain about Dan but I feel Alex is as bad bad if not worse because he acts like he's a team player but is awful at actually doing that

I've been willing our brave cowards on since the beginning, but I'm beginning to flag a bit. Their communication has improved a lot but they're still really slow at looting, which means they're always chasing their tails and battling against the circle, instead of using it to their advantage, rolling up to houses which have either already been looted or have people camping.

Then one guy wipes out two or three of them and it's game over.

I want to believe! Maybe, when you find yourselves in that position, haul ass a bit further inside the circle instead of right on the border so you can regroup.

I need a counter for every time Abby says "spice", not only during Murder Island, but all the videos she's in.

Fun episode overall.

The good: They are playing much better as a team.

The bad: how can they be so bad at shooting, constantly getting murdered by lone people and missing so many shots.

We can't do that. Remember last time they did a raid for 8 hours? Jeff was almost lost to the darkness!

I really hope this game doesnt win game of the year. It is half finished and full of glitches. Like when they cant see houses. Not to mention people getting booted constantly, losing connection. They can forgive this game as a broken half-game mess, but not something like fallout 4, which is broken in a more beautiful and profound way. But also a billion times more content rich with more refined gameplay. This game is a flavor of the month. Breath of the Wild is a legit masterpiece. Just my humble opinion, of course.

Would be nice to see them do more custom games to change things up a bit. Perhaps a 6-7 man squad taking on some zombies? Or some other cockamamie game type cooked up by the community?

Jeff was right on the podcast, they're good at teamwork and communication but they still freak out when they're in a combat scenario. You've got to be cold and surgical, no emotion when you're in a fight. Maybe take some beta blockers!
